Lowest price I can find for this, released on 24/01/17

On a personal note, please order this! Show Sega that there is an interest in these games being released in English in the west!

The glitz, glamour, and unbridled decadence of the 80s are back in Yakuza 0. A prequel to the long-running series set in Japan's criminal underworld, this entry introduces mainstay protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima as they fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka in their climb through the yakuza ranks. Along the way, players can interact with all the vices 1988's Japan had to offer: from discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades, there are tons of distractions to pursue in the richly detailed, neon-lit world.

At its heart, Yakuza 0 is a classic 3D brawler, where players roaming the streets of Tokyo or Osaka will encounter all manners of goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes to beat up. Featuring an engaging combat system allowing players to switch between 3 different fighting styles instantaneously, Yakuza 0 gives players fluid, free-flowing fights that are easily learned and a joy to master. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs.

Game Features

A HARD BOILED CRIME DRAMA - The story follows Kazuma Kiryu as a junior yakuza member who finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Meanwhile, Goro Majima is living a "normal" life as the proprieter of a cabaret club, but is doing whatever it takes to rejoin the yakuza. What that entails isn't exactly easy
FIGHT LIKE HELL - Kiryu and Majima can each switch between 3 brutal hand-to-hand combat styles on the fly to creat the most fluid beatdowns ever experienced in a Yakuza game. Use Heat Actions to trigger violent special attacks, or pick up environmental objects to whale on enemies!
TWO VIBRANT CITIES COMES TO LIFE - Kiryu and Majima will find themselves interacting with many of the colorful denizens of Tokyo and Osaka in some of the most absurdly comedic and heartwarming tales from the red light district. From helping a budding S&M dominatrix learn her profession to ensuring a street performer can make it to the bathroom in time, there are 100 incredible stories to discover.
THE FINEST PURSUITS 1980s JAPAN HAS TO OFFER One of the main features the Yakuza series has to offer is being able to relax with the various entertainment options around Japan, and Yakuza 0 has more than ever. Players can go to hostess and telephone clubs for some female companionship, disco halls and pocket car races to blow of some steam, hit up the CLUB SEGA Arcades for classic 80s video games, and much, much more!

This is not the game to wait for a price drop, regardless of whether it happens quickly or not. If you care about this series in the west then you need to pre order it.

Going to get this as soon as I finish Yakuza 5. Best series I've played in years, actually happy to support this and pay full price. Plus, this means Ishin and the HD collection could come to the west in the future.

Sales are sales. Paying £40 pre order is daft to me. 30 Ye.

Dream scenario = Yakuza 6 Switch exclusive, released TBC 2017.

I really want to play the series in English. They should of done DLC's with this

Got Yakuza 5 free with PS+ basically a mortal kombat arcade game with a storyline and 80% of that game was reading subtitles!. I'll pass, theres a reason foreign films and games generally don't break any records in the west as their a niche market.

Haha! I'm not sure where to begin with this comment.

Firstly: Mortal Kombat?! X) Did you pull off some sweet Fatalities? Babalities? It's actually more like Virtua Fighter with a storyline.

80% subtitles?! Maybe just a slight exaggeration there. What's wrong with reading subtitles anyway?

Foreign films and games...X) Very good, Nigel. Have you ever heard of Street Fighter? Resident Evil? Final Fantasy? Mario? Zelda? Pokemon? Metal Gear Solid?

We're officially getting Kiwami, the all-singing, all-dancing, full-on remake of the first Yakuza, this year. It sounds AMAZING.

These games are just fantastic - engaging story, satisfying gameplay, a crazy level of detail (the mini-games - including Outrun!), loads of style... and totally utterly bonkers.

Just look at the awesome intro video

I missed all of these games because I didn't play the first 2 on PS2. Can you get Yakuza 3 and jump in or would I be missing a load of story out?

Haha! Not at all. It's a full time job keeping up with all the different Yakuza games and regional releases and whatnot.

Incidentally, can't believe no one has mentioned Yakuza Dead Souls! Just about to fire it up having finished 4 last week.

You can start with this one as it's a prequel, but Yakuza 4 is a good starting point if you have it and want to know about some of the characters.

Yeah, I started with 3 a few years ago. Both 3 and 4 (and presumably the later games) offer very, very, very thorough synopses of the earlier games!

Ok, but, Sega are all but dead and buried, Nintendo is the last remaining from a time when videogames featured games over hype.

I think 4 is the best starting point - I felt it was a big improvement on 3, but unlike 5 it has a good recap of the previous games. It was also free on PS+ in 2015 as well.

As someone pointed out above coolshop have it for 37.95. Can't vouch for them personally as never used them, but heard they are legit. Also with topcashback at 4.6% it brings it to 36.21. More than happy to pay that day one and support the series over here.

I'm fully aware they are dead console wise, hence the inclusion of the word dream in the sentence :)

Even that feels pushing the limits of dreaming.

You don't even know how much you are missing out if you avoid anything with subtitles

For anyone with Amazon Prime they've added a £2 discount so this works out to be £37.99 at Amazon atm.
