A good deal for a used psp 3000 in WHITE. However, there other deals going for used psp at a fair price.
The next deal is at cex. If you dont care what condition you want your PSP, cex have a discount range for the psp 3000 at £75 which means its most likely to have marks on the screen:

Theres a mix range of colours so your not stuck with a colour you dont want. Theres a few silvers 3000 in boxed if your lucky.
The box condition ones are very good. I just got my 3003 in Black today from cex with firmware 6.31 on mine. WIth no marks on the screens.
I just prefer the box condition ones from cex because they are less likely to get marks on the screens:

Sorry about the confusion dude :(
The other reason why got mine from CEX was because it was the cheapest to get it in black :)
But again, its all down to preference of the condition if you want it bad or not.
To make the firmware issue even harder, I just tried to play a newish PSP game: Persona 3 portable euro edition and it now wants me to download the latest firmware 6.37.... It will not even play without the new firmware... period :(

does anyone know how to bypass the update firmware just to play the game? Or would I need to go down the route of CFW? argh! I have been searching for answers only to come across something called USB version fake? But do I need to install CFM to get that working with the USB fake?

My 8 year old son is looking for a cheap PSP. I was gonna get a 1000 off ebay for about £40 - any reason why this is worth twice as much to an 8 year old with no plans to hack?

Theres a few differences between the psp's:

I think the obvious one is, it has a new screen and has a built in mic.
In short, I brought mine over the Phat and 2000 because it had a much better screen but I am seeing some scanlines on mines. I found that, if you tone down the contrast less, it less noticeable but its still kinda of there. The 3000 also has a TV out which I am looking forward to use if I ever do buy the cables X)
I miss the UMD eject button on the 1000 :)

You should get some good deals on ebay or try either your local cash converters or cash generator.
