is this the 2000 or 3000? either way great price, I would rather one of these to the psp go anyday!

i have the 2000 is there any real reason to upgrade to 3000? I heard it has a microphone (which i wouldnt use) and a better screen, anyone had both and can comment on the difference?

I currently mainly use mine as a sat nav with go explore, excellent piece of kit!

HOT deal, have some rep too mate!

My opinion is that seeing as you already have the PSP2000 there is no particular reason to "upgrade" to a 3000.

Both the 2000 and 3000 have a built in microphone and actually (well depending how you look at it) there have been some comments that although the 3000 addresses a ghosting issue with the 2000 it presents problems of interlacing.

More information here:
http://www.pspworld.com/sony-psp/accessories/sonys-official-word-on-psp-3000-interlacing-problem-009413.php

If you look around you may also find a in-depth comparison between the 2000 and 3000 model.
The choice is yours.

Oh really? I stand corrected then - I own the PSP1000 and thought it was just the launch consoles which didn't have a built-in microphone.

Regardless based on what Jake1983's PSP is used for I still think there is no particular need for Jake1983 to upgrade his PSP2000 to a 3000.

could you tell me if the PSP now does 'normal' avi (ie HDTV xvid off the nets) just through the normal fw or do you have to use a specific homebrew player?

TBH I tagged it as the PSP2000 but not 100% sure if it was that or the 3000. Prob the 2000.

I am happy to pick some up and ship to you if anyone wants one. Would need about £6 for Special Delivery and payment by Bank Transfer only as Paypal shafted me again recently.

PM me if interested but note I am heading down to Leeds tonight so can only get some if Leeds has them too.

You can get it for even less if you are part of a big-ish company with an account, can't remember what I pay, £12 or something.

It's the 2000.

I want one, but I need one of the older ones that can be flashed. If they let you look in the box at the date code, and it is 8B or less(8a,7cetc), it would be perfect.

I thought that you could now use homebrew on newer 2000's with the TA-088v3+ motherboards using CFW enabler? Same should apply to the 3000 series.

Yes you can but you have to flash it every time you turn it on.

Huff.. I have just bought the PSP 3003 but it's one of the newest versions that can't be done. Not to mention, silly boy here upgraded it to 6.10. Apparently Mr Alex is looking at doing a CFW 6.10. Fingers crossed, I won't be waiting long.

Buy yourself a phat and you can basically do everythig with it. Game station sell for about £70 used but come with a year warranty plus you can choose which unit you want some are practically new. also IMHO phat are better constructed.
