Couldn't last time I checked (a good while ago, I don't need it, got an older version).

I don't think so - I think it was a bit of a game with any firmware version on the 3000.
#16
Hard to believe this has got to 450 degrees without anyone confirming its availability in more than one store.
#17
Wow, bargain! Half the price of others! HOT from me. Which store is it? Might get my brother to pop in and pick up a couple to whack on ebay lol.

An item's availability doesn't affect its price, though. Whether everybody is able to get it or not is almost irrelevant. If only fifty people benefit from a deal like this, it's still a hot deal.

Ah the epic fail product from Sony. Soon to be replaced.

Actually, since the PS3 was hacked, there is now a method to run homebrew on all PSPs as a side effect

The heat of an item is supposed to be in direct proportion to the extent of its availability and the amount saved compared to other retailers. I might find a single solitary PSP for 1p in a bargain bucket in M&S but if I come on here to post it, it would be ridiculous if it was classed as a hot deal given that nobody else would be able to get one at that price.

Of course this would be hot if you could get one, but there's no evidence to suggest that this price applies to any PSPs other than the two with the £69 sticker in the OP's picture. Of course that shouldn't stop people looking in their local M&S stores, but to heat an item like this before knowing if it's even available is just daft.

you can use homebrew on this just google it
you can download the latest games for free (as backup copies of the originals that you own of course ;))

IMO if its only in one store, not really a hot uk deal, not trying to start a great debate, just where would it end? Charity shop listings, car boot sales, markets?
#32
Which Manchester store please? town centre? I'm close to Trafford Centre you see.
#33
This is hot.

I got one from Morrison when their £70 offer was on and this is a little better.

A personal view is that if a bargain is spotted it should be posted.
#34
the site should change its name to hot store deal as most of the deals on here seem to be one store specific
#35
Right I am popping into the city centre M&S to try an clear up confusion about the stores. Back in about 30 mins (hopefully with a PSP)!

Who has said that it shouldn't be posted? Nobody that I'm aware of. The point is that it's daft to give so much heat to a deal when the evidence suggests that this is still going for £139 in other stores (see post #23).

No it isn't.

Direct copy and paste from HotukDeals 'How Voting Works' in the Help section linked at the bottom of the page.

The HUKD temperature gauge (the little red and blue arrow next to each deal) is used by members to show their opinion on the deals, competitions, vouchers and freebies on HUKD. Members vote "hot" for those offers that seem pretty special. Enough hot votes and the deal will go front page.

Please don't make up the rules.
