Wait for the backlash because of the product, but this is the best price since launch.

"Heat" added.

BFN,

fp.

PS. The White variant is still £199.99.

I have owned one since Launch and at under £150 its stunning.
I also own a Psp 1000 (Phat) and that has never been touched since I got the Go - even though the Phat psp has the Custom Firmware.
Having a Pspgo - it looks great and is so small it really does fit in your pocket and gets you back into portable gaming.
The problem with Custom firmware and the 'back up' side of gaming is that all games lose their edge as too many games are readily available so you never really play one properly.
The hackers can still buy at this price and hope a CFW comes - as one hack has already been and was closed out.
Personally - I would love the PSPgo never to get hacked properly as it has revitalised my portable gaming.

Have you bought any of the "Mini" range of titles? Would you recommend any of these?

its a hot price & you can also get 3 free games if you have an old psp (look on the PSN store)

i've had one since launch & love it BUT would only reccomend it to someone if they arent bothered about game prices. they are higher to buy than the actual physical UMD versions & cant be sold on (although can be put on upto 5 psps under the same account)

i'd reccomend the offer argos are running at the mintue. £137 the one above! LOL

Going on holiday soon with all your UMD's?
Not wanting to get into a fanboy slanging match but seriously...
The16gb storage makes this what it is...
Portable.

Pack on a few movies, some music (sense me sofware is devine) and your games and you are off on holiday with your enteratainment in your pocket.
Add a TV cable and a PS3 controller you can watch and play using the Hotel TV when required and play using the ps3 controller- thanks to bluetooth.

The added Bluetooth means you can connect to the internet using your mobile phone (tethering) so the Pspgo really does have the edge.
Custom Firmware is overrated has ruined the PSP completely as you never 'play' the games properly.

Its a choice thing and at £150 its the right price for the product.

Price on DLC?

Buy the psn points online - Zavvi do £20 cards for £15.99

This means the DLC on PSn is way cheaper

Snazzy unit, but my standard PSP has been in a cupboard for 18 months. Wouldn't buy one again.

The value of a phat barely makes it worthwhile. Can't believe how much I spent on a pair of 1gb memory sticks back in the day :-D

Good deal so voting hot ,but don't think im going to get one even at this price i have previous model and don't use it that much and never have its ok but never gets much attention.

As for hacked firmware ruining PSP id tend to disagree abit as theres too little amount of really good games released they appear but not alot, so if i find a good game i will play it but its usually finished by the time the next game i like shows up... Not slating the PSP btw

It is 16Gb internal flash memory capacity, but you can extend this by up to 32GB using external Memory Stick Micro (M2) flash cards.

I appreciate your point about custom firmware meaning that nobody plays a game 'properly' any longer, but some of us use custom firmware to trial titles where Playable Demo versions are not available prior to purchasing the commercial Universal Media Disc versions.

The prices for the downloaded titles on the PlayStation Network are kept higher than the physical discs that available by conventional retail channels so that the retailers are motivated to sell the PSP GO units. If the downloadable content was the same, or cheaper, then the retailer would have no incentive to sell the console as they would never see any further revenue in ongoing sales for games to play on it.

I have the rest of the day to convince myself that as well as the 2 x PSP-1000 series units, & 1 x PSP-2000 series unit I already have I need a PSP Go as well. Out of the two colours available at present though, I favour the Ceramic White (as it will match my PSP-2003).

Doh!

But yes, it should be reiterated that the PSP Go was not intended as an upgrade path from earlier PSP units. The PSP-3000 series is still available & there are no immediate plans to cease production.

The next PSP model (the "PSP-2" or "PSP-4000") is rumoured to still have a UMD drive on-board. Expect this in time for next Christmas.

I agree that the old psp's are good - but my old phat was on the shelf for ages.
My PSPgo has gone to work with me every day since I got it.
I got a 16gb memory card in it so I have 32gb of storage so it is maxed out.

Seriously good price if you are in the market for a PSP
I would go for the Go over the 3000 deals which are currently on as the PSP3000 uses a soon to be dead format.
The digital downloads are coming for all PSP's so best be prepared.
As the market starts to purchase the games on PSN or by 'voucher game cards' in store the UMD games will sieze to be released.
Mark my words - Umds will only stay for as long as people in numbers buy them.

Oh and I still use my Phat to 'review' games to see if they are worth a purchase. :P

Thanks, Flodd.

There is a dedicated site for reviews, but I'm always interested in first-hand experience rather than the views of sites with potential vested interests in reviewing something positively.

I believe Sony have reversed their decision on this due to public demand (read: anger) in retaining the UMD format.

Digital downloads are available across all the PSP range now anyway.

Nice price i'm sure these would sell a lot better if they where this price from the begining since it's around the same as a DSi,we've still got the four that got sent to us at launch in work,£130odd and i'll probably pick one up!-voted hot ;-)

Depending on condition & system software I may be interested. I'm not the only party looking though, I'm sure. If you clear £30-£40 that has got to be worth your trouble hasn't it?

But you can always use the Remote Play facility on the PSP console to download content to your PS3 before you return home every Thursday, or play/watch content whilst away from home.

Sony will not make the decision - retailers will just stop buying them if the demand falls.
Once they can sell 'download game cards' then they will stop selling the umd disks once the demand falls as the space used in a store becomes un cost effective.
You cannot stop progress.

I have asked Santa for UMD games this year.

Even though the market wishes me to move to digital distribution I still favour physical assets.

me too. just got invizimals, which is a sony game & uses the psp go camera..... BUT the psp go camera doesnt fit the psp go?! :?

i've bought stuff the easy way
£20 PSN cards for £16 from zavvi x2
traded guitar hero full band at gamestation (they offere £23! but cex offer £57 so got £58. had bought it from work for £36!) & got 3 £20 PSN cards
buy games off the PSN that are from the special offers

i've also managed to get GT & 3 free games! i'd missed the date for the GT offer but did do the 3 free games promo right. didnt get a code so after complaining they sent me a code, but it was the wrong one! they sent me the code for GT! so emailed again & got the right one. so i got GT free as well.
shouldnt have got anything really as i'd wanted the PSP go on launch day but i was in florida getting married! so bought it over there for £150. as it was a US PSP go i wasnt supposed to be able to get any of the free games! HEHEHE
#29
Great deal for a terrible product. Just checked out CEX and they'll only give £138 for it so it's not even worth buying for trade in value.

Heat added for a great price but even that can't tempt me to buy this turkey.
#30
great deal but won't bother with one of these until they hit £100 mark

im happy with my fat psp =)

would definatly get a GO at this price if i didnt have a psp already.
#33
lol
No I do not work for sony.
I just like my PSP go
I am not buying one today as I have one already but its a stonking price compared to the competition out there. If you want a PSPgo then it seemed a great deal.

I am not knocking anything about the older PSP's but I had fallen out of love with the older ones.
#34
the ONLY reason i wont buy this is because i download almost everything from the american psn store, especially ps1 classics.i use mu UMD drive for actual psp games so tht no region or profile lock rubbish will stop me from enjoying titles from both sides. with a psp go, if i bought games from both the american and uk psn, id be royally screwed as id have to switch profiles EVERYTIME i wanted to play other games. without a wireless connection available at all times, itd be impossible to switch profiles on the go.

Hmmm, could do... however using the phrase "tethering" did not divert attention from news reports of the failed Sony Ericsson Aino mobile telephone handset (that can also use be used remotely with a PS3 console):

"Retailers Also Pull Sony Ericsson Aino from Sales"

Im not voting either way cause it is the cheapest price out there atm, but i really would recommend the standard psp over this one anyday (especially the Argos deal).

... i doubt it will be around for long, hopefully it will be the massive failure it deserves to be.

Seems a good price for what it is, but I don't use my PSP anymore :( Paid about £215 I think back in xmas 2005 for a 1gb entertainment pack. Had CFW on it for years but never played the games I obtained. Now back to original firmware 6.20 I think, bought GT, GTA:CW and PES2009 in recent months but just haven't got the time or patience, would rather be on the 360.

Wish they'd release an updated COD though!

The hackers can still buy at this price and hope a CFW comes - as one hack has already been and was closed out.
Personally - I would love the PSPgo never to get hacked properly as it has revitalised my portable gaming.

I agree - boo to all you hackers put there giving us stuff for free and opening up functionality that should have been default in the first place!
shame on you all!
I'm off to burn some money...
