I think in this case it is exacerbated by Mike Ashley being a plague and the small detail that 100% of the merchandising profits (sold directly by Sports Direct or not) for Newcastle stuff goes straight into his pocket with no benefit to the Club.

He owns, amongst other things, 100% of their Intellectual Property/Merchandising

That's the disheartening thing. I never bought it for exactly that ha! Lets not forget Rangers stuff too now!

LOL - he hasn't quite completed the Rangers sweep yet - they apparently still get 75p of every £10 profits.......but it won't be long before he strangles them out completely too !

whether you like it or not that's the way business works unfortunately, days of clubs been ran as clubs is long gone, just have to remember back to the pre keegan management days to see how far we have come and what it could still have been like to remember that its all still going ok. fans don't like it unfortunately as their memories are so short. Wish we were still up there but times have changed :(

As a Toon supporter myself, I will not buy anything with "Wonga" on it.

Buy a few hundred and make Jak Alnwick wear them on Sunday, he may be fat enough to save something :p
