the extras are just a bunch of interviews with various celebs about Arnie and a bit about all the films he went on to do on the back of this.

Great movie IMO. I also found the steroids comment above pretty ignorant, as bodybuilding is not all about drugs. Steroids weren't even touched as a subject in the film, it's all about the drive and dedication these people have.

Personally, I hate bodybuilding as I'm more into strength sports such as Strongman and Powerlifting, but this film really is tops, even if you're not into training.

Have to say imo the bodybuilders of today ronnie coleman etc, are super huge, but look disproportionate, Arnie had perfect symetry, and a great attitude, cocky but endearing! :-)

Top,top film.

dude arnie at his peak next to ronnie coleman at his peak only has 1 difference.

coleman's stomach is huge. otherwise there is next to zero difference. therefore today's bodybuilders aren't any bigger.

also people who know nothing about steroids, shouldn't comment on them. all the top athletes use them, this includes, swimming, running, wrestling, boxers, etc. not just bodybuilder's but it is bodybuilders who get singled out by idiots who dont know the facts.

steroids will never ever make you grow, be the best, muscular, faster, etc. only hard work and training can do that.
#31
You watch Ronnie Coleman on vid, sick. He's huge for sure and not just his stomach.

Bodybuilders are much bigger now than they used to be.

steriods will never ever make you grow, be the best, muscular, faster, etc. only hard work and training can do that
Ok agreed on hard work and training but a bodybuilder not on steriods won't get to the level of someone like Ronnie Coleman, no way.

Great DVD, I bought this years ago and loved it.
#32
been this price for about 2 years

You're wrong there. I have all the respect for Arnie, more so than virtually all of the BB'ers of today yet you can't say there is no difference in mass. Symmetry, maybe, but take Jay Cutler for example he steps on stage 5'9" at around 275lbs, Arnie a good 5 inches taller competed around 235-245lbs but probably closer to 235lbs so there's a good 30-40lbs more mass on the guys at the top now days, and most are shorter, height-wise, than Arnie. But thats not taking anything away from his achievements, or his ability as a BBer, just the science of supplements has advanced so much more.
#35
bbuilders looked way better back in arnies day imo.

theres another arnie docu/drama called total rebuild. nowhere near as good as this but still a decent watch

Most top level BBers have a dvd out but most are about 6-hours long and just follow them around, day-to-day, but if you have a favourite BBer it may be worth getting it, because it's interesting to see how they live; how the world is different being that size, and maintaining their weight, particularly when you see how they eat day in day out. Yet the suprising thing to a lot of people is how humble and down to earth most of them are. You don't get that level of humility and time-taken out for the fans as you do with the BB'ers at the top.
Also I recommend a documatary called 'Bigger, Faster, Stronger' as a good watch in regards to steroids and people misconceptions, and also Arnold's book 'Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding' is a great read for anyone interested in training, especially if just starting out.
#37
I bought that Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding maybe 20 years ago, time flies!! It is a great book.

Total Rebuild is also a good DVD.
#38
what a legend!
