I already own one of these and think the sound quality is great, and now have another for the study!

Shelf edge label stated offer was valid until 4th May, lot's of reductions in the Audio department at both Longwater and Queen's Road stores in Norwich so not sure if they are having a clearance.

I'm going for the Pure rubbish, it can then match the last 3 Pure products I have from them.

I have never understood these. Are they not a contradiction....Crystal clear Digital Radio........then fit a mono speaker?

Are you saying that it can't be 'Crystal clear Digital Radio' because it has a mono speaker?
If so... LOL!

Well you seem to be in the minority there judging by the reviews I've read of this radio at least. Will make sure I get a full 2 year manufacturer's warranty though if i get one rather than buy a reconditioned set with a shorter warranty as they do seem prone to failing. Ideally looking for a good deal on the Evoke 2s with its dual speaker stereo sound.

I have the Evoke 1 with the extra speaker in the kitchen - excellent. Also Evoke Oasis in the bathroom, both very good radios, Good sound. Recommend.

Get an internet radio instead. 1000s of channels including all the stations on dab.
#14
Is this only mono?
Wouldn't be paying this price if it is!

Have to agree, not really worth the money.

It's a decent price for the product in question, but as previously stated your average mobile smartphone can get you better radio off the internet with better reliability if you have WIFI.

DAB is dead. But if you want a DAB radio to sit in your kitchen, this is a fair deal - I wouldn't say particularly hot though.

Well i'd prefer 1 good quality MONO speaker than 2 **** ones.
the difference is obvious, it's a portable radio, & unless you have space for a proper stereo image rather than 2 speakers spread as far apart as the moulded body will allow, then you aren't exactly getting a stereo image, or at least a good one!
..which takes us back again to 1 good mono speaker.
I've got numerous Pure dabs, all excel (don't buy the more plasticky ones, sound doesn't convey overly well through a plastic chassis, wooden cabinet wrap all the way!

(I've also got a roberts stereo dab, couldn't refuse the price) ...it's awful, body resonance & tinsel-wire, not to mention more from the battery compartment.

Couldn't disagree more. I'm sure listening to the web radio on a smartphone is a battery drainer and not pratical if you need to use it for calls/texts etc at the same time. Internet radio relies on your broadband connection always working properly and even then can drop off or hang for no apparent reason. These radios are portable so can be used all around the house or garden, not just in the kitchen.

Well said Loop.
& to the grumblers regarding reception, i've just popped a dab radio aerial kit up, so you can try that to see if it fixes things, buildings & trees etc can crucify the signal, if you can offer extra elevation / clear line of sight then perhaps rather than a telescopic aerial which is on most radios you'll be sorted!
(mines on the outside workshop roof in a puddle, works fab! ;)

..just a thought.
