Even if you paid delivery it's still a £49.99 radio everywhere else!!

Just reserved one in Luton, on my way to get it shortly. H&R for the op :)

H&R,couldnt get any of the £9.99 ones but 2 off these for work are a bargain
even got stock at my local store!!
#7
good deal.
Excellent radio - had ours for a couple of years now with no faults - paid £4.97 when Boots had their 90% clearance.
#8
Great price for this radio but they don't have any for over 20 miles from me......

I thought it'd be worth pointing out that the Talk Sport version of this is only a fiver more and is available for collection from store too. The only difference between the two that I can see is the colour (talk sport's black) and they've got plenty in all my local stores!!! H+R added for the find :w00t:

what's the sound quality like from this? I have a Roberts dab that's a bit tinny sounding
#10
be carefull if you are going to run it on batteries....it uses the C type batteries (and 6 of them) which are quite costly and not many deals on them unlike the AA batteries. Offcourse you can use AA to C converters but my experience is that they don't always work....and DAB radios are quite power hungry!

....definitely a hot deal if you are going to use it with power adapter.
#11
Is there a radio alarm clock on this too?

we use a pure 1 evoke at work

http://images.littlewoodsdirect.com/is/image/Littlewoods/pt026v03m?fmt=jpeg&size=240,360&color=255,255,255&defaultImage=/Littlewoods/imageunavailable&wid=240&hei=360&qlt=80

and for a little radio its loud enough to be heard all over the warehouse
great reception and no distortion
only fault we had recently was a loose connection on the speaker needing soldered
however its been running for months at full volume for 18 hours+ a day
#13
Great radio. Couldn't get this below RRP a couple of years ago when we bought ours. Hot

What you lot going to do when the government adopts dab+ or dab2. Google it might put you off buying into dab anytime soon.

develop a terrible habit of drinking methylated spirits and spend a lifetime as a derelict living in parks bemoaning the death of DAB

Maybe some kind of update can be run on the 'Mini USB connector for software upgrades'?

But what about dab++ or dab3????

You have to face it, everything becomes obsolete as soon as its out, its never going to be new and cutting edge, thats just life.

Why do all dab radios look like ****.. no wonder they are not being taken up.

Hey we have the latest in radio technology lets make them look like something from the 60's - Marketing genius..

Had the black one for ages . . Sounds 100% better than it looks, not tinny at all

Out of stock for me in: Middlesbrough, Stockton, Durham, Hartlepool, Darlington, Scarborough and Malton :x

I got one of these for my mum for £33 from Amazon a month ago...it's brilliant, good sound quality so so easy to use. FM too less than £25 it's a no brainer if you want DAB.

Am I missing a trick?

I don't understand what DAB offers.

It seems to me a handful of stations that are available on FM plus a handful of other stations.

Is that it? Whilst I don't expect a life changing product at all, I just don't quite get it.

Don't get me wrong, I am really waiting for http://www.pure.com/products/product.asp?Product=VL-60896 to become available at a sensible price, but I really don't get DAB.

Am I missing something?

Anyone confirm if ti has an alarm that can be used to actually wake me up in the morning. it has a kitchen alarm whatever that is. I have a s**t DAB clock radio from argos that needs replacing but I do need to be able to set the alarm even if it has just one time each day to go off.

Can this model do that?
I reserved one in Doncaster and Rotherham also had stock.
#25
quality is better if you used to MW stations like talk sport, thats the main reason im interested :) plus 25 quid is not a lot really, maybe ill get one

I wouldn't have thought so.

EDIT: A kitchen timer is no more than a countdown timer that sounds an alarm. Sleep timer just turns it off. So no wake up facility.

You're missing nothing. DAB is one of those formats, like Betamax and Minidisc, that never really took off. This was mainly due to the failure of car manufacturers to adopt the format and the proliferation of wi fi radio and internet stations.
The number of stations available on DAB is decreasing all the time.

right got it here
decent reception, sound quality seems fine as well
#29
Impulse purchase, but really pleased, great sound and the other half hasnt' killed me! Thanks op :)
#30
Saw this at lunchtime, reserved and picked up at local store this evening. Excellent purchase. Really pleased with it. Reception quality is much better than the Intempo DAB it replaced in the kitchen. Sound quality is perfectly fine but not as great as more expensive DAB radios - but then you would expect that as it only cost me just over £20. Stock levels are falling fast. If you are quick today, you might get one.
#31
We've got one of these and it's excellent!
#32
let us know if anyone gets one!? was it boxed? was the store OOS when you got there? thAnkyou!
#33
How does this one compare to the Robert's DAB deal posted around a month ago for a similar price?
#34
Just got one boxed and security sealed in store following an online reservation! - the store did not have any on the shelves though and didn't even seem to have the product on display... online reservations are the way forward methinks.

What Hi*FI? Rated this 5* (http://whathifi.com/Review/Pure-Digital-One/) and it's certainly a massive improvement on the sound quality than my previous DAB radio! Thanks for the heads up- H&R added :)

Goddammit! Idid ask the price in Richer Sounds even mentioning it was cheaper in Curry's next door. Instead of telling me about the price match, I got the F&@* off smart @r$e look.
