Got one of the original ones of these, worth every penny of the £68 quid I paid from Comet. Best DAB in the world, ever.

The Bug and the Bug Too are the same apart from colours and firmware. The Bug can be updated via USB to Bug Too spec in a few minutes with the firmware downloaded from Pure

That's what I thought too.... but the Bug Too has not got the Autotune button that the original Bug has. Instead it is the On/Off switch on the Bug Too which makes much more sense as the On/Off on the Bug is a pain in the backside being in the middle of the multi-directional button which could mean you turn the volume up/down by mistake instead of turning it off.

Sweeping generalisation and anyway beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Is this ugly?

Bought my Bug about a year ago from Amazon for about £59 and looks like the price is still the same.

The new version is the same as the old version, just a different colour, and V2 firmware which you can upgrade to anyway, and is available from Pure website.

The Bug is a brilliant DAB radio alarm clock with sleep timer, and must be one of the best gadgets I have ever bought. The ability to record DAB, and playback MP3's is a bonus.

Except that it's not the same even after the firmware update (see post above). There is a button just for On/Off on the Bug Too which there isn't on the Bug. This may sound minor to those without a Bug but it is one of the main 2 complains by owners of the Bug. The other is that the display is quite bright even on it's lowest setting. It doesn't bother me but it does some people.

I got a morgan refurb about 3 weeks ago and it was a bug too not a bug that was in the packing. Its great it records to SD that I can plug straight into my car stereo usb. It means I can have planet rock +24 on the drive down the motorway :D

The Roberts RD1 DAB radio also does record pause and rewind and seems to be heavily reduced in some places now. It is only 61.99 here:

http://www.electrical123.com/products/ProductDetail.asp?ProductCode=ROB-RAD-RD1-S

Some other places have it over £100 more expensive. Mind you, its looks are pretty questionable as well.
