PX100 @ Woolies for £7.00!

First time poster...so be kind?

Just got back from Woolies. Saw the headphones at the till...got curious so asked. Displayed price was £16.99 (or something like that). The REALLY* nice SA told me that it was a tenner...with 30% off. Makes it 7 quid!

I just had to get three - one for me, a friend, and a backup gift :D

I hope no one buys them to flog on ebay...be nice and let others have it.

*No sarcasm there. He really was nice and helpful. I don't get the people saying that the workers there are useless. But that's my take.

ps: If it's of any help, I got mine in the Aberdeen branch

Are you related to the SA?

That is a great buy, I have had these headphones for years and they cost me £19.99 and worth every penny.

would it not just be silly to post woolies deals now? the forum could get inundated and they are slightly unrealiable? are they not?

Agreed - Woolies deals are COLD right now. Getting anything is like a lottery at the moment. and the sale is WAY overrated. Cold from me.

Eh? No. Why would you say that?

I could. And then people might miss out on the deal. Have you dropped in the thread recently? It's full of mud slinging and the like. I wouldn't step in that thread to find any deals because mostly I'll find people dissing the SA's, protecting this, that da di da blah blah blah. It gets kinda old after going through 5 pages and NOT finding any deals.

But I digress. Unreliable or not, you could still claim the warranty from Senns themselves...No?

Or am I missing your point here? Lol :P

That, my good man, cost more than twice the price I quoted...Someone needs to visit specsavers? :P

Finally someone who agrees with me!

On a side note. For those looking for a slightly tamer bass and more response on the higher end of the spectrum could try the KSC 75 - it's so much better at details (well, YMMV). Problem with these open airs are that noise leackage makes it hard to use in the library.

Would not touch it if they were £1. Sennheiser headphones are massively over rated, I wasted money at Play on a pair after everybody raving about Sennheiser but in my opinion they are poor build with average sound.
#8
Yep. Worse than the Next sale. The Next sale opens at 5am, the stuff is only 50% off the previous price which was mega expensive anyway, and they drag out all the sh!te they couldn't sell. But still for some reason people queue up and it's mayhem.

It really amuses me how people love to generalize things in this forum. You're saying that the Senns for 7 quid is cold? How come the other thread for the px100 from play got voted hot? This truly baffles me how this forum works. Lol.

I take it you're one of those that own a K700 or some pair of high end beyers? Yes the build quality isn't the best...but neither are a lot of other headphone brands. The SR60 doesn't really have the best of craftmanship...but why is it still so expensive and better still - people actually buy them?

Not buying them for a pound is rather...well I'd not say it lest I start a war? The sound quality is decent enough, nay, pretty darn good I must say. Match the price and see if you can come up with something that can match the sound quality?

Odd, my other post didn't show up? Meh. Whatever.

To answer as to why I didn't post this in the woolies thread itself...Well have you been in the thread recently? Hardly a place to be to look for deals what with all the mudslinging going on. Figured this way more people could actually see it.

I really don't get it. You guys are voting it cold merely because this deal is from Woolworths? I really do not see the logic in that. If it's a good deal, regardless of where it's from, it's a good deal no? Warranty can be covered by the manufacturer...unless I'm greatly mistaken. In which case I would gladly be corrected.

edit: btw, the link that was posted to play was priced at....£15. Is that supposed to be a better deal? Really, someone educate me with the etiquettes of this forum.

It IS cold when the branch of Woolies you visited is probably the ONLY one to have any left, and you bought several of them! Seriously, I've been around four Woolies and bought sod all. Read the Woolies thread and everyone is saying the same thing - there might be the odd bargain, and well done for finding one, but as a deal it's COLD because the chances of anyone else getting this are almost zero.

Ah...Now I get it. Fair enough point mate :)

If that's the case then the deal would be cold for most people. Still, just thought I'd share :)

i got 2pairs of white basic headphones from woolworths today, i use them for watching films on my psp at work, 99p each origionally which in itself is a bargain, when i got to the till it cost me £1.54.

I think i'm getting to grips with this forum now, you only post deals that everyone can benefit from and that everyone finds useful - otherwise its cold from all the moaners ?? Deals are deals I got my maglite and my dell mini 9 - right place right time is how it seems to work.

Nice to see you still pointing the finger StaceyAKelly

Lol. So it seems. Been observing for sometime...and yes. Quite a few moaners. Ah well. Not my loss really. Moan away and let this thread sink :D

*Goes to the play thread to exclaim how great the price is* :whistling:

Problem is dosman people think twice about posting unless they have really thick skin. What really gets up my chuff is when the deal says apples at 10p each and some dork says yes but oranges are only 5p - I fell for this when i wanted a Wii and ended up with loads of onions from Lidl !!

Count yourself lucky. Onions are less fattening and Wiis go off very quickly.

IMHO the non-sale prices on the clothes at Next (for the most part) reflect the quality of the clothes themselves, so while they can be pricey outside of sale time, to get them at 50% off is a steal. True, they bring out some old stuff to try to get rid of but in my experience, and I am a next sale-goer myself, most of the stuff is the stuff they have been selling full price on the shelves up until the day before the sale.

Nothing like the feeling of having your eye on a certain something then to actually brave the sales (which can be a feat in itself, I admit) and snap it up at half price - if you're willing to get up early enough! :p
