A very decent centre speaker for not much money at all. Goes well with the cheap 1010i speakers (around £85 a pair) or even the floorstanding 1030i's which can be had for between £169 and £191.

For example, I've gone for the 1000C, a pair of 1010i's for the rear and a pair of 1030i's for the front (I have a sub). Under £300 the lot!

This is the older model not the 100Ci.
Still a very good price.

Yup, C not Ci but as it's a centre I'll take the minor quality hit for a £50 or more bonus!

The bracket can be had for an additional £12 from here too.

Nice. I bought the 1010i 5.1 setup a few weeks ago and it's a decent range. A mere £25 for the centre speaker alone is well worth it. £399 was the best online price at that time, things may have changed, if so, I lost out! :P

Still in stock in Black and Cherry (no Beech) but can't see them hanging around for long. Seriously considering this at a rear centre too for 6.1!

Yeah a very cheap option but it's a bit bulky and ugly to use in that way.

These are more wife-friendly albeit they're another £50 on top:thumbsup:

Although Q Acoustics and QED are of the same, I believe the QED-UK you refer to, to be a different company - a shop/retailer - see http://www.qed-uk.com/

AFAIK, QED/Q Acoustics are still going (having recently released the i series).

Good spot! I was just thinking of getting a centre speaker soon; this'll do me for the time. Thanks!

Would it be a bad idea to use this speaker as a centre for my receiver that has an impedence rating of 8-16 ohms?

Thanks Gunark, ordered.

Cheers op, not the same beech colour as my 1050i but at £25 who cares! The centre is hidden away until I need to use it anyway.

No problem at all.

Just don't use bell wire as the speaker cable;-)

Those who are concerned about colour matching could well go for the black as it'll generally match your TV (well, as long as it's black obv..) and other tech gear/furniture!

Haha thanks

Was just a bit worried cause I have a new receiver and front speakers so didn't want to cause any damage! :)

Hot

Just purchased after hopelessly trying to get a KEF Cresta 10C for £19.95 from Richersounds

Now I just need to replace my AV receiver - (with SONY STRDG820? - don't have much money)
