£79.99 on Superfi, good price.

i guess good deal. i'm looking for Alesis M1Active 620 monitors:) but this is nice on your table aswell. quite good quality.
#3
heat added BTW :)
#4
Decent speakers, very good deal. They have the black finish for £49.95.

A very decent six satellite setup for £120 - £150 (not factoring in the NEED for a sub). Superb.

RRP £110, good review here if your intrested, seems like a great price although the older 1010s were apparently better but no doubt cost a heck of a lot mmore than £40 ;)
#6
I wouldn't be surprised if you went and looked at them there was some other letter tagged to the end of the model number on the back....meaning they are imported from somewhere else...

Richer sounds say they don't use grey imports, but I bought a pair of JBL Control 1 speakers out of there a few years back and they had a spurious G or B I think on the end, found out they came from Europe made to different standards to that of the UK British market.

Richer sounds still refused to say they were grey imports....madness

none the less the quality may not be that much different or they could actually be genuine speakers bound for the British market and standards in which case it could be a good deal, I'm just saying do some research before buying from them its how they undersell most places ;) good luck

it's a fantastic price, I got the mail just before coming here to post it. Sadly in store only though which is a shame.
#8
Bought these yesterday from Birmingham branch to add to my 1030i floorstanders and my 1000ci centre speaker. Good quality surround speakers for the money.
#9
How do these compare, I've no idea with speakers and amps.

I was considering getting these for a home DJ setup - http://www.homedj.co.uk/ebuttonz/ebz_product_pages/kam_soundpack_sd_pro.shtml

Would people recommend the KAM Soundpack or get these Q Acoustics 1010i and a 60w amp?

Hot Hot Hot !!!!!!! nice find going to get some!!!!

Whereabouts is the Birmingham branch?? What others shops is it near / what street is it on?

Rep for directions, lol...
#12
Great deal. I have these in my bedroom, they sound great... Obviously cost more than 3 times when it was introduced..
#14
heat + well spotted ..
let see if they still have it in Birmingham
#15
Cheer's for the directions. I go to Birmingham regularly, but have never seen the shop! I have been using the Cheltenham one for ages. Really annoying, because I was in Birmingham yesterday.

rep added to username

These would do nicely to replace my two back speakers, which are starting to sound a bit dodgy.

heat added

5 stars was for the 5.1 package which consists 1010i.

It is only 4 stars as a bookshelf speaker from the same reviewer.

LOL

What Hifi can be like that sometimes, thats why people think they are hit and miss reviewers. They did that with the subwoofer as well, gave it 4 stars but the 5.1 package, 5 stars.

But they get pretty much 4-5 stars from every other site.
#19
Great price. I have 2 pair of these for my home cinema kit are i cannot fault them!

Excellent first deal post. H&R added

Look good. What else do I need to get these speakers to work? Speaker Cable? An Amp?
#23
I just got some from my local they still had two boxes.

Got one for my PC, but not sure if I can do away with my front Front Speakers and put these on as they dont sound like THX ha ha. Altec Lansing MX5021

Front Speakers: 20 Watts/channel @ 6 ohms @
10% THD @ 150 - 18000 Hz 2 Channels Loaded

Subwoofer: 50 Watts @ 4 ohms @ 10% THD @ 40
- 150 Hz Single Channel Loaded

Anyone have any idea?
#24
Hi, is there any way to connect these to an ipod?
thanks

Good luck finding some wall brackets for these.

You need the 1000WB, they are discontinued!

The 2000WB does not fit, just been into Superfi and measured them up for size.

Price in an extra £25 for the brackets.....that's if you can source any.
#27
I need to get some new speakers to run on my amps 2nd channel in the conservatory.
Would these do the job well?
Or are there any other good deals around to do the job?
#28
OMG THEY POUND.

Will sell my THX PC Speakers, they are sweet very heavy, good build
#29
thanks just reserved some completes my Hot uk deals setup

Have the Q Accoustic 6.1, 1010i setup, they are a excllent speakers and you will not find better quality for the £££ even when they were full price they were one of the best speakers in the price bracket...

They have dropped in price due to the new model out but they are still a great buy...

Quality!:-D

I've got the 1010s on a little Onkyo CR515DAB, and they sound superb.

So, I take it the extra (£270) for the sub and centre isn't worth it?

I'd say it definitely IS worth it. If you can buy a better 5.1 package for the under £500, i'd be surprised. The only thing that comes close IMO would be this which is £499.99

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/11585689/KEF-KHT2005-3-Home-Theatre-Speaker-System/Product.html

So if you can find a branch that has it in stock, i'd get down there straight away.
#34
Good to see some reasonable Hi-Fi gear getting heat on here, rather than the usual Samsung or Sony stuff.

Heat added!
#35
Grabbed me a set today !!
Thanks for the heads up and advice, great deal!!
#36
These are magnetically shielded too so you can stick them next to your TV without damaging it. Quite handy for replacing those tiny little front surround speakers you may have.
#37
Awesome - ordered a new mini hifi for the spare room last week, but it didn't come with speakers.

Got these reserved for me in Reading (sounds like they had plenty too) and will pick up in ten minutes!

Thanks for the response (repped) - I wanted the surrounds in cherry anyway so bought them.

Picked up 2 pairs - just need a centre - subwoofer and amp now!

Richer Sounds? Richer Clowns, more like.
The un-name-tagged sales assistant in Richer Sounds in Chelsea simply wouldn't sell these to me yesterday evening. Went in and asked for them by name. First he said he didn't have them - but I'd called ahead and knew they did. Then he asked what music I would be using them for, claiming they were only any good for drum and bass. "Radio 4 in the kitchen", says I.

A manager's voice from the stock-room: "Ah, you can't argue with that one! Ha ha ha!"
But he did. The sales assistant said, categorically, that I didn't want these and that I should buy some more expensive small loudspeakers branded 'Gale' - they'd be better, go louder, etc. That the 1010is seem to universally review well and would be ideal for my needs seemed to be lost on him. He went on to ask about my amplifier, a spare PMA250SE, and then claimed that the Gale speakers would get more out of the amplifier. He just wouldn't let it go, so I left.
It turns out that 'Gale' is a Richer Sounds own-brand slapped on no-name goods. Higher margin, higher profit, presumably more commission for the salesman. As it is, I left empty-handed and won't be darkening Richer Sounds' door again. So beware of this potential up-selling and switch-selling if you plan on taking up this deal!

I remember a sign they used to have in the old Leeds store:

TWO RULES OF CUSTOMER SERVICE:
1. The customer is always right.
2. If customer is wrong, rule 1 applies.
After spending a fair few grand at RS over the years, one arrogant and ignorant sales assistant has cost them my future custom. A sad day.

Try Superfi. They have the centre available online for £79.99 delivered.

Not sure they have the sub in cherry though.
