depends on the level of gaming, freecell will fly, crysis will crawl, damm good spec for price tho

So which is it ? I the first two posts it's both a "Intel Core 2 Duo " and then a "Intel® Core 2 Quad "

Graphics card IMHO would need upgrading for newer games .

Memory 2GB DDR2 PC2-4200 (2x 1GB MB)

533MHz RAM with a quad core CPU is a mismatch; hopefully that's just an error on their part.

Hot from me looks good

"go to deal" link does not get me anywhere..
I may be interested..

Oops..Sorry.. It works now..Good deal in my book.

At a slightly higher price point Dell has Inspiron 530 systems on the Outlet Store with a Q6600 in a range of specs for those that would like a higher spec. Not sure that they have any quite this cheap though!
#11
should really mention its a refurb
#12
quidco at curry's is 3.5% for those interested.

Same system is at pc world at the same price - quidco only 2.5%

it is 533mhz ram, most cheapey store built computers are. It's not as mismatch as such, it will ust run at a different ratio.
#14
This very similar spec Dell is still available new at £359. This is as cheap as many of the Dell outlet prices. I know it is more than £309 but is it new & might be of interest to someone.

It’s a mismatch in terms of performance; 4 cores sharing a 1066 FSB with DDR2-533 is not ideal.
#16
Yes it's a mismatch as it wont be 1:1 fsb ratio........but it will work fine and it's a prefab computer, it's very rare these nasty things come with decent memory. The worry is that 1066mhz or 800mhz ram is actually cheaper than 533mhz ram now, so why didnt they bother!

Not a bad deal actually, I just managed to build this system quickly on ebuyer for £277.53inc Vat.....so an extra £30 or so to Dell for whatever warrenty it comes with isn't bad for a prefab computer.

**** memory, **** video card, onboard sound yawn. waste of a good quadcore, seems a bit odd its refurbished already??? this is a cheaply made system for quadcores, i guess for the money its ok but its not summit id recommend or buy.

maybe he means in title which it should be

Better off waiting for the Iqon computers to come back in stock at Big Pockets and fit a graphics card for your needs in my opinion.
Cheaper by a long way

Did you include an Operating System in that price ? Just curious.
