take nortons off for this price.
AOC 20" screen is good. Haven't powered up the box yet.
wifi card
TV card
8500GS GPU with a serious fan (takes space of two slots),

No free slots cos of the above.

wireless keyboard /mouse. (uses one of the 6 usb slots at back.
TV remote.
Some thingy that plugs into the USB port. Don't know what it is. It's round with a chamfered top. It says OVU412001/00 on it.
Cqrd reader below DVD at top slots. USB and headphones in bottom drawery thing!

So quiet. I cannot hear it at all.

One thing I notice though, I seen no option in the BIOS while loking in the shop, to turn VT on, so hopefully it is turned on already!

I looked at other sites that listed this product. I saw it in the shop. If I could get my card reader working in this darned Vista, I'd post pics of inside and out!

Can you confirm 100% that it has a wi-fi card in becuase I reserverd a netgear usb on the basis that it didn't and if it does I obvisouly won't want that ;-)

Look at the pic of the M/B, it shows the wifi card internally. Then look at the device manager. It states 802.11b/g. There is a wifi card in there. Also have a look at newer posts for the medion PC of nearly same specs(better actually) than this coming to Aldi, except there may be no moinitor in the ALDI deal.

I'mnot using the wifi card. Cannot get a good enough signal down here when router is in attic. Iuse the GB ethernet all over the house.

had a quick look at the aldi deal while the PC is a slightly higher spec it doesn't seem to come with a monitor this one seems to be the best bang for the buck right this moment if you need a monitor as well.

I'd very much like to be prooven wrong though so if someone does have a simular/better spec for the same price or less including the monitor i'd love to hear about it before we go and pick one of these phillips machines up.

This seems a good deal if it comes with the TV tuner and the other bits that the PC world website spec states it doesn't.

Does it have any fire wire connection as I need to do video editing :?

Your problem has been solved for less than £10 ;) .It's also a better solution than the integrated firewire.
#19
Darn, it wouldn't take that code for me!
I see no firewire. The pic for Device manager would show it under network conn's if it were there.

I got all my bits installed, except for Epson R200. Device manager is clear now.

One thing I do notice, and it could be the Etrust AV on my fuji laptop combined with zonelabs AV on the new box. I am copying over vmware images and it's only copying across the 1GB switch at 3.7MB/sec. Something is def wrong there!
#20
anyone know if the cpu is 32 or 64 bit?
#21
Both :)
#22
cpuz says this.
And Computer properties says 32bit Vista.
GRC's securable states that 64bit processing is available.

Great deal. cant believe it. I bought my PC in 2005 with a 17" Phillips monitor, 3200 amd, 512mb ram and 160gb for £599.99
#24
The 1650 x 1050 screen is just awesome, the extra pics tho have horiz lines through them,l which I thought was the monitor, but the loines are in the pics themselves. Changed the wallpaper to a few vista pics and no lines.
It's still a shame about the monitor speakers though! They are terrible. Or maybe, it;s the green out jack that's terrible on the board itself. I'll have to expoeriment a bit.
#25
whats 32 or 64 meg i dont understand!

In your pictures, I assume that is two 1GB sticks if it has 2GB total... Why are they not installed in duel channel? They're both on seperate channels... V_V

Thanks :)
#33
Shame the gfx card is terrible
#34
yep gfx is awful but i think the spec in general is good
#35
The code does work, remove Norton 360 then add to basket. Go to basket click home delivery only, add code YAWMAR08 , click update and the price will change from £499.99 to £474.99. Don't forget QUIDCO 2.5%

Total price delivered £463.12 (inc. free delivery)

I am definately gonna buy and if it's not good just return it!!
#36
definately cheaper than any dell the only one I can see hat kinda compares is D034004. Tell me what u think?
#37
There is no firewire. Bluetooth is my dongle, so no bluetooth either.
Only issue I am having is installing VMware Server 1.04. I will try workstation 6 in a little while.
#38
just so everyone knows, be careful with this. Philips PC's are pc worlds own brand. So in the same quality level as e system and advent etc. . . .

Working in the tech dept, philips were highly refunded and exchanged. . .

Probably the speakers, Quite a lot of TFT's have speakers that are ok for just windows sounds (e.g new email notification.etc) but absoluetly useless for playing any proper sound though ;-)
