Bank Account £50 Offer:
All of our usual account opening procedures, product terms and conditions, key features documents and rates and fees will apply except as varied by these offer terms and conditions.
If you successfully open a Bank Account between 13 May 2008 and 14 May 2008 inclusive, we will pay you £50 provided you keep your account open for at least 66 days from account opening and pay in at least £1,000 within that time.
We will pay the £50 directly into your Bank Account approximately 66 days after the date of account opening.

If you Go Green as well (i.e. no cheque book/paying in book or snail mail), they should pay you an extra fiver. Apply through quidco and should get £20 cashback from there as well.

Please do not take this as any form of financial advice as to the suitability of this account to your personal needs. If you happen to be in the market for a new account (or have no issues with managing multiple accounts) then this is a nice SHORT-LIVED bonus.

Is there a minimum monthly payment with that account? Do you need to transfer your salary to it?

The account itself doesn't have any such conditions...it is their basic product (so definitely not a market leader). The only conditions are that you must pay £1000 in within 66 days of account opening and leave it open that long. Not obvious whether that money has to stay there but seems you could drop it in after 60 days (to allow time to clear) and remove it after the payment is made.

The very fact that one of the conditions states that you have to keep the account open for that length of time suggest that they expect people to take the account, get the money, and then close it. I guess they hope that some of the customers will stick.

I've given it a shot anyway..the worst they can do is say no :)

Actually the answer hardly was there, their wording was very ambiguous until you get to the end of the application and read the eligibility criteria

"You must agree to have your salary/regular income paid directly into your bank account" - This was worded differently on the terms and conditions page.

Hmm..never saw that. Maybe thats why I got no instant decision. Anyway..I can't afford to stretch my salary around any more banks...got too many already that are expecting it each month for various deals i've signed up for

As far as I know there is nothing stopping you opening the account getting the Quidco cash & then closing the account.

That's a bit of a pain still should be ok for the Quidco & green? Well fingers crossed anyway.

Looked at this again, before you start the application the wording on the eligibility criteria was:

"Do you have your salary/regular income paid directly into your bank account?"

then changes to:

"You must agree to have your salary/regular income paid directly into your bank account"

One seems like any bank account is fine and the other seems like you must have it paid into your new bank account. Seems a bit odd to change the wording on this within the same application.

That's one bank that must be in trouble...

I wouldnt count on getting the £20 cashback, loads of posts on MSE about HSBC not paying cashback and it getting rejected from Quidco
#13
Does 'QUICK' refer to the offer not being here next week - or the bank?

I applied for this account 13th May 2008 got my £20 Quidco cashback but now HSBC are arguing that I am not entitled to the £50 has anyone else had this problem??
#15
Think I'm having the same problem. Rang them today to ask why there's no £50 there and they tried saying that offer was for the Bank Account Plus account but I'm 100% sure I remember applying online via this topic? Don't suppose anyone took a screen-shot?? :?

Completely forgot about this. Got the £60 for putting in £1000. The Quidco didn't track initially, but I put in a query and they've paid the £20.

£80 for nothing. :-D
