Jack Klugman (who received four Emmy nominations in the role) stars as the grumpy but righteous 'Quincy, M.E.' In this predecessor to other television programs like 'CSI' or 'Crossing Jordan', Quincy works for the Los Angeles coroner's department, where he is charged with performing autopsies and running other medical tests relating to criminal investigations. However, he's no regular doctor, for his brilliance often allows him to spy clues that detectives and other examiners have overlooked, leading him to examine cases further. 'Quincy' took the suspense and mystery of other crime shows and spun it by having the investigation begin with forensics evidence, and took a step further by exploring difficult social issues and taboos. Features the first 17 episodes of the landmark program, with guest stars such as June Lockhart, Van Johnson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Adrienne Barbeau, and many others.

Gah, I now have the theme music floating around in my head (and a mental image of Jack Klugman stroking a bikini clad beauty, *gag*).

Also, why did everyine die of a subdural haematoma (if I spelt it correctly)?

Picture the scene: a man has been knocked over by a bus...cuts to Quincy...digs around a bit in the corpse...looks to camera..."subdural haematoma"...end of case :thumbsup:

Hahahaha, you watched it then!:-D Personally the only thing i liked Jack Klugman in was the Odd Couple, really loved that!

I loved it. Like Magnum, it was a "tea & toast" programme before bed in my childhood

Wasn't a big fan of Columbo and his trick, "so you murdered hi/her?" question every episode though ;-)

Yep...

Bullet in the brain = subdural haematoma
Poisoned = subdural haematoma
Drowning = subdural haematoma

I guess when they were on on their way out, all the victims managed to bash their heads on something...most likely Quincy's massive ego or libido! ;-)

personally I blame it all on that new punk rock music that all the kids are into.

I'm takin' bout murdor !!!

Good old 70's TV. Much slower and enjoyable than a lot of the new fast paced stuff.

just gone to order it-and its out of stock now.................

The episode with the Killer cannabis was one of my favourites, good old Quincy, letting that chinese fella do all his work while he galavanted across the country on a hunch, only to get back to his boat and a woman half his age, case solved.

Might have to buy this even though I know i shouldnt as i have too many DVD's but cant argue at the price, now just need to find diagnosis murder on the cheap
