These are really nice, think I will be sending dad to asda at the weekend!

I'm not vegetarian, but have had these before and they taste GREAT!!!

ive never understood why vegeterians want all their food to look like meat

Gotta say I completely disagree with the previous posters. I think Quorn is just awful. Im a canivore btw, but my girlfriend is a veggie and shares my sentiments.

Anyhow dont worry, voted hot because the price is still very good, and thats the point really!

Who said they want "all" food to look like meat, sounds like u have a problem with vegetarians

people do not eat meat for a number of reasons, some may actually like the taste of meat but do

not eat it for other reasons.

1. They don't - I've certainly never seen anyone attempting to mould broccoli into a steak...

2. Maybe vegetarians like meat, but choose not to eat it because its from an animal. Thats my reason for being a vegetarian.

I prefer some of the supermarkets own brands for other items (other burgers and mince) but this is one of the quorn products I enjoy. Plenty of flavour to these although I dont think some of the other quorn products have much flavour

It depends which "version" for me. I hate their sausages and bacon, but love the sausage rolls, mince, chicken fillets, SFC etc.

My sister eats meat and prefers the mince to the real stuff. I suppose its just down to personal taste.

Because the shape of prepared meat such as burgers, escalopes or sausages (those emulated by Quorn) bares no relation whatsoever to that of an animal, and even if it did, it would still be irrelevant: being vegetarian is often a moral decision, and rarely an aesthetic one. Seen many burgers trotting about in the paddock recently? In short, a burger is not meat, it is a way of presenting food, commonly used in meat.

Plenty of vegetarians love the taste of meat, hence the market for Quorn, and abstain for other reasons. I'm not sure many vegetarians find the dimensions of a burger offensive, or the taste of meat, but rather the manner in which it comes into being.

Quorn's strange. The faux beef mince is much nicer than mince meat (no mashed up ligaments!) and the same goes for pork and lamb. Chicken I think is marginally less tasty than the real thing, and bacon is like Frazzle flavoured insoles.

I never understood why meat eaters have to put pointless comments on every veggie thread.

Not a big fan of quorn personally (besides the mince), but it's a good price.

maybe they're made from soy protein because broccoli is too expensive? :whistling:

This is a great price and tastes like chicken lol :)

I'm a vegetarian, I eat burgers because they're a convenient shape. Not very often though as they tend to make me a lardy shape.

As for the debate here, why do omnivores tend to call themselves carnivores? It's not that I have a problem with pure carnivores you understand, they make funny little pets and I've got a house full.

Im no veggie - but these taste great, esp when grilled and served in a bun with lettuce & mayo.
#19
If it helps, I just went to Tesco today and they had some quorn filet (look like chicken), 1.93 each but 2 for 2 quids.

Just had these the other day, very impressed. Nice and toasty :)

Hmm, I can't vote on this really, I tried the sausages and burgers by quorn the other week and they were pretty terrible, but as I've not tried this, even though they're a great price I can't really vote, or I'd sway to the cold side anyway

i like these, much like a good chicken burger - best with a simple salad.

great price - will stock up on some at the weekend...

and, just to input - im a veggie and have been for oo.... almost 15years and im a vegetarian because i dont want to eat an animal, not because i dont like meat - infact, i used to be quite partial of a rare steak lol. As for the comment about 'why do all vegetarians want their food shaped like meat' - did it not occour that infact we DONT make the shapes, in this case the quorn company does, thus, if you want to eat it, youre gonna have to eat it in a classic 'burger' shape - no other choice really, dont see many square quorn burgers to chose from instead.

Heat added, these are quality tasting chicken burgers, you dont need to be a veggie neither, great find

I think these taste brilliant - but for some reason they just dont seem to want to digest afterwards.
