Ok its good value if you like the taste! Voted hot!

Do you get rubber chewy bits in it like real meat (Or so called real meat)

I hate those, puts me off, a fake meat with no rubber would suit me

When is the last time you tried it? I know plenty of meat eaters who have ditched normal mince for this.

The chicken pieces were also £1 last time I looked.

Myself included :-)

It's a lot nicer and much better for you than regular mince.

This is great stuff. Not really for food snobs(that are always voting) that have steak for every meal though.

Mmmmmmm, looks like meat, tastes like sheet! And yes, I have tried it, a friend who insists on being a veggie made me eat it a few times. One thing about being a veggie though, she's gone from being a slightly plump lass to looking like a starved Zombie (Thats if you like the skinny look!)

I'll stick to Steak every night, lol!

HOT deal, I've not eaten meat for over 20 years and from what I recall about "real" mince it was awful. This is really nice.My mrs and kids all eat meat but they do love this as a healthy alternative.

I have it occasionally as I am vegetarian (but perfectly healthy looking - you'd be surprised, most vegetarians are indistinguishable from anyone else trigger_andy!) but I don't think its as "realistic" as other Quorn products, I'm not hugely keen on the texture of this one.

Great price though.

It's all about what you add to it!!!

Great price, we prefer Asda's own though :)

Try the Tesco own brand meat free mince if you don't like the texture of the Quorn stuff. It is far far better IMO.

The tesco is very nice and 'meaty' :) Quorn is fab too, just depends on how you cook and and with what....

You don't have to be a vege to eat Quorn, it is better for you than real mince with all the gristle, testicle meat, face meat, filler and other cr*p that goes into that.

Over the years I've accidentally eaten 'real' processed mince a few times and it always tasted a bit stale and gristly, like it had been in the freezer for a couple of years too long. Perhaps meat eaters have got used to that but it really is nasty stuff.

I used to like the taste of 'papier mache' but gave cow & chemicals up for Quorn.

See, I was all excited about this offer, as we eat it a lot with a veggie flatmate (and it's fine in things like pasta bake where you wouldn't probably taste it anyway) - but it's NOT listed at this price in either of the two Lidls near me (Dundee and Cupar)! Still listed at 1.67...boo.

Either your workmate is a bad cook or you are telling porkies. I cook for all kinds of nationalities. I cook meat meals for them, however I sometimes do Quorn (not often as too expensive) meals for them & no one has ever been able to tell the difference, most have complimented me on the meal.
Even just 10 days ago an Italian student having her first meal (a pasta) with us said it was a very good meal.

mosserbett - "us normal folk's" HA HA HA. Typical arrogant meat eater comment.

Really? I could have. I would have used some full stops for a start. Plus I wouldn't have sounded like a 12 year old girl ranting incoherently.
