Absolutely tasteless.
Agreed :(
As far as calorie counting goes enjoying a "proper" bolognese is worth taking the stairs, walking into town or just working out for a bit!
It used to amaze me how so many girls at my old college took the lift up a single flight of stairs or moaned when it was out of order.
The same flight that I used to walk up / down at least 4 times a day without even thinking about it
Any good weight-loss adviser will tell you the same thing, dieting isn't even half as important as physical exercise :|
But a good choice for vegetarians! So some heat from me :)

First off I have lost 60lbs this year and exercise 5 days a week. Walking up and down the stair a few times will get your heart racing but if you are obese / overweight that is not going to make a great deal of difference. It takes 3500 cals to burn a pound, thats a lot of taking the stairs instead of the lift.
Second, the fat / cholesterol in beef, even lean beef is not worth it, although lean turkey breast is better. Quorn is a good alternative, cooked properly with good ingredients, particularly those that are tomato based makes a big difference. Quorn bolgnaise or burritos are lovely. But each to their own, taste is subjective.
I know for me dieting can be very expensive; I have to do a calculation with deals like this in mind; value V's calories V's nutrition V's taste. Some days taste wins and I will have beef, but usually calories and value swing it. I got fat by eating cheap crap like burgers and readymeals full of junk.
I will stop preaching now! I am writing a diet book lol can you tell?

Talking about the fat in lean beef, yet eating pastas/bread?
Really?

I eat pasta maybe once a month as I don't really like it, I find it dull but its is filling. I do like my bolognasie on a bed of raw spinach leaves, now thats yummy! And I eat bread maybe once every 2 weeks, not that I don't love it, I do, I just am intolerant to yeast. But its no big deal. I have been eating better so long I don't really miss it, but I do have the advantage of working from home so I can prepare a lot of my meals in a my own home without having to rely on getting sandwiches for lunch or eating on the run

Seems like you're burning plenty of energy worrying about other people's diets.
