I know, it is crazy that ebuyer are still offering this deal! Until then the joke is clearly on them! =P

The disclaimer at the end was brilliant :D

Yeah, if any of the brand snobs are worried about this deal, I'll sell them an equivalent pair made by Oakley for £200 instead.

It's a fairly old tradition that the pranks should end at midday.
#35
Really? is there any proof of that?

Why so sceptical despite having heard from two members that both believe it stops at midday?

It ould be a regional or generational thing. I remember when I was at school that if you pranked somebody after 12 then you became the fool. It wasn't just a very local thing either. When we moved from Thame to Winchester when I was about 10 it was the same thing. Now that's going back well over 30 years ago. :-|

It seemed to be that the tradition died out somewhat when the TV and papers started doing regular fools gags. It also seemed to be a particularly British slant to April fools.

You can still see evidence of it from time to time. A few years ago there was an announcement on an Oxford local radio station that Didcot Power Station wanted volunteers to help clean it. Volunteers were told to turn up at midday. That's when they announced it was a prank.

You've heard from at least one other user that they thought it had finished at noon. I'd be interested to know how old you and batistawhc are to see if it's a generational thing. Try asking your parents what they think as well.

April fools day is different in some other countries. The French traditionally have the "poisson d'Avril" or April fish (no joke). Most of their pranks seem to revolve around water and fish - except for the tradition of tying to stick bits of paper on teachers backs! In some french schools I've heard that the teachers seem to regard this as a badge of honour, as they seem to compete for the most bits of paper that they can accumulate!
