I did a quidco deal with RAC last year and it tracked and I got paid.

I paid £28 and got £20 which I thought was a fantastic deal.

Don't forget though, that you need to set up a direct debit to pay the £28. So, you need to cancel that before your renewal. Then get a new quidco deal with the AA or something!

The £35 Quidco is for basic cover with at home added which is £77.63 for one named vehcile or £80.63 for personal cover.

price rises sharpley the moment you add other oprions as recovery from home etc/ good deal for basic cover.

heat + repped

what do you get for basic cover... Have read the details on the website - looks like they attempt to fix your car at the roadside, do they charge you extra for parts & labour???

Please note, the £28 cover is only for cars less than 10 years old and not for automatic (and you get only £20 Topcashback or Quidco).

There are better options if your car is a little older (moneysupermarket.co.uk). I got breakdown cover with relay to destination or back home for £29 per year for a 12 years old automatic car.

:xDamn, I done my last month through topcashback spend £28 and get £20 back but mine still hasn't tracked, so put in a missing claim so fingers crossed. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing difficulty with topcashback but in the last couple of months I have had over £140 not tracked and still awaiting retailer or topcashback to get back to me! Hmmmmm I shall send them nudges again! Anyway heat and rep to you!!!!;-) think i will go back to using quidco as they seem to be having better deals if tracked

Title is very misleading, as u only get £20 back if u get the basic cover. So saying that the title is actually wrong lol

u don't get £35 back if u take out the £28 cover :)

the £35 is for basic + an additional option.

U can get up to £70 back depending the levels of cover u take out.

@nihcaj: reason for reading the article? Just curious as i may look at doing the RAC next :)
Thanks

this is DISCRIMINATION agains automatic cars

they are not more unreliable GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm dubious about the RAC paying out - did cashback of £28 on Fatcheese last May, it's recently showing as pending but no money for me yet. My premium was £28...
#14
great deal if you get the quidco!

Does anyone know what cover you get when you've bought a new car? I read in my car manual (when i first got the car last year) that you get some kind of cover, but i've mis-placed the manual already. It's a Lexus (IS220)

looks like u get 3 years with the lexus buddy

http://www.lexus.co.uk/lexus-services/lexus-care/roadside-assistance/index.aspx

best check with the dealership as u "should" get information in the post rather than this being in the manual.

It's not about reliability. Automatic cars can't be towed, so you need the relay option (They have to load the car onto a trailer)

Maybe not but they are more difficult to recover if they break down - probably need a flatbed.

Well, they can be towed as long as the drive wheels are off the ground so you could use a winch or a dolly to do the necessaries. Otherwise if you can disengage the transmission, then towing won't wreck the car either. Obviously, this is much more work and when my stolen car was recovered they went for the trailer option. Very expensive if you don't have cover as mine ran out the day the car got stolen. £460.

Hello
I am looking at this deal of RAC breakdown cover.I am adding Roadside assistance plus
Cover for you which is coming to £34.50. I am confused whether I will get £20 as cashback or £35 cashback?

ICE - voted cold. We have 9 vans with them. One broke down the other day I was on the phone on hold for 20 mins then disconnected, 30 mins then disconnected and finally when I tried again in the afternoon, they shut the helpline ie message came on "we are experiencing high calls" followed by "please dont hang up you call will be answered" follwed instantly by "We are sorry but due to unforseen circumstances we are not taking any more calls" and this was 1pm in the afternoon, so why the hell am I paying a these clowns for cover for all my vans when they do not honour the contract or if things get a bit busy then they shut shop! We'll defo be changing this year, I'd not take it with them again if it was free.

agreed was with the aa....first time id i used them in 51 weeks since joining...was 1 week before renewal......was at home, but they said theyd come next day because of high calls due to snow....i said no, you are not honouring your contract, they said they havent enough patrols...i said thats not my problem....they said there is nothing they could do....i said ill perform a chargeback then, anyway called again and said i needed an urgent fix and they came in 1 hour....total joke,
I have the top joint people package with the aa too (usually £220 or £169 on their site - i paid about £100 with quidco).....the reason i have breakdown cover is so that i get my car fixed in an emergency....otherwise i may as well burn £100 on the fire
