well, firstly quidco aint a guarantee, secondly this promotion wont run forever, thirdly doing this 365 times might count as 'abuse' but nothing stopping you from doing it a few times?

The RAC will probably process any second attempt as a renewal. No quidco for renewals.

isn't it illegal to have two insurance policies on one car? i.e. if someone already has insurance on the car then to for you to get insured you have to be added to their insurance. so is this only a good deal if you buy a new car or already use RAC insurance?

this is the same insurance system that norwich union uses,

and i wont let me get insured becuase ive used up my maximum number of days in 12 months (which i think is about 6 months)

the above refers to getting insured on the same car,

this is temporary insurance. one or two additional persons for a few days (1 day for the purpose of this deal) is allowed.

Would this work for learner drivers to be insured for 1 day, and have a day driving about with someone else in the car obviously.

so what happens if you have an accident when covered by two insurance companies? surely they are both going to say the other is liable to pay?

I work in insurance and you cannot have two policies on the same car at the same time. In the insurance industry that is known as dual insured.
Most insurance companies will only allow you to insure a car if it is registered and owned by yourself anyway.
What you will need to do is get alternative quotes from other companies that will allow you to be a named drive on his policy.
    I hope this helps.

So maybe worth checking with your existing insurer that you will still be insured! still a good deal if you have bought a new car though to drive it home!
