One for the women then...........

Just of the sort of sexist comment I'd expect on this forum, my wife would never be able to grasp this kind of technology.
Instead she has to get out and let me park her car:-D

if u need this, u shouldnt b driving

When I have seen this used in a Volvo it was absolutely excellent. Allowed pinpoint control of a XC70 but in my car, which only has parking sensors, I struggled in the same maneuver. Not needed for the majority of driving though of course.
#8
Does this run on batteries or via car light socket
#9
they should be compulsary in 4x4's , most of them are driven by women who can't reverse them properly, especially while on the mobile phone. :whistling:

Yes, of course the car that somebody drives selects whether they are a good or bad driver.

Regardless, when I was in the Volvo as a passenger the camera was an amazing tool for getting out of an exceptionally tight hotel car park.

I wonder if fitting it is difficult as it is activated in reverse only , can it be activated manually aswell?

Dont they realise they look like total A***holes driving about in cars that are massive in a town centre. Some tiny little woman`s head behind the wheel of some monster BMWX5.

"Oh but its to ferry ones kiddies to school" Yeh? thats while they scare the **** out of everyone elses kids. To**ers!

Get a normal car your able to drive safely without having special aids for your special needs?
#15
Seems like a good idea (having recently traded my Punto for a people carrier 'cos the kids complained they were getting squished in the back and living in an area with very limited on-street parking) but:

-is it going to sit on my dash looking like a sat-nav so i get my window smashed (again:x)

-new car seems to have some kind of parking sensor anyway - you reverse it the same as the Punto and it makes a kind of "bump" when it's time to stop.

yes those children under 10 never walk behind cars in your blind spot do they :whistling:

No. why how many u hit ?
#17
So anyway, apart from all the debate is this a hot deal or not? It has a good review on the site itself and seems to be a good reduction. So I've voted hot anyway.

Strangely enough it does....During my many years as a biker I did actually find that various types of cars where more likely to do stupid things and to give them a wide birth. Unfortunately the urban legend about Volvo drivers did indeed seem to hold true:).
My theory is that there are two kinds of drivers, people who enjoy driving and people who just see it as a means of getting from A-B. The later being the most dangerous as their minds are not always focused on the job at hand and may well benifit from this device.
