I bought this exact model from Maplin about 6 months ago for £49.99. Its easy to fit but to be honest I dont use it due to the cheap plastic fittings. If you use the glass sucker mount then you will have the power cable trailing to the cigarette lighter & there is no air vent holder which would be better.

Could I use this to monitor my front door? It'd be nice to be forewarned of hawkers and JWs.

Well it's on a windscreen sucker mount, like most Sat Navs, so like most sat navs you would take it off the windscreen when you're not in the car....it's not rocket science.

You live in Liverpool?

As a scouse I can say there are far worse places for sat nav thefts than Liverpool. In any case most of our cars are fitted with the standard Liverpool Anti-theft device which is demonstrated here:

-Plus as a back up we use this device:

Fine until you get where your going then remember you left it at home, so park without using it, proving it was a waste of time in the first place
Or
Hold up all the traffic for 10 mins while you rumble about in the glove box looking for it and then setting it up

Why not just learn to drive before taking control of a car, Its not rocket science

Your original point was that if it was on the windscreen it would probably get stolen. If you get to where you're going and left it at home...it won't get stolen obviously. Also I'm not really sure what to make of your second point, I can't get past the thought that you have a messy glovebox  ha.

Either way I wouldn't get one either...because I know how to drive :)
