Why cold?
#2
Was wondering the same thing! Thought they were about the cheapest available.
#3
People will vote cold because Pixmania are one of the worst online retailers.

That being said, that's a great price for a great card.
#4
i,ve never heard anyone in te real world havea bad thing to say about them. So I guess it's just clicking cold for the sake o fit. I have bought from them about three or four times and had no problems at all.
#5
Voted hot from me. Great price for a great card.

I have the 4850 and can't warrant spending that much or i'd take it !!
#6
Great Price - Paid £80 more 6months ago.

V.good card - i can run Crysis on Ultra (E8400 @ 4GHz) :)

This Sapphire 512MB is only 89p more at Novatech, but you can get 3% Quidco there. They also have a much better reputation for customer service than Pixmania.

You get 3% quidco through pixmania too.......not sure how you work it out at only 89p more - works out a lot more to me when you take into account postage and the 5% discount?
#9
OK, I forgot Pixmania was on Quidco and I missed the discount -sorry. Haven't had a coffee yet this morning :) Your title undersells it as it doesn't include the code discount :)

If anyone wants to use the £7 off code, I can refer you. Send me your e-mail address.

its not buying from a company that is usually the problem, its when something goes wrong then you find out what a company is like...

these were the first 3 that reviews on pixmania that came up from google, makes interesting reading :)

They are without doubt the worst retailer I've ever dealt wih. They may be fine if you have no problems but I'd rather buy from the likes of Amazon and know I'll get great service if there's a fault or I need to return something.
#13
I'd never buy something from Pixmania. Got completely ripped off by them a couple of years back.
banned#14
My mate had a monitor from pixmania and it developed a fault, he had to pay shipping to France as they wouldn't let him return it in the UK, as they are based in France, but, it's still a very good price.
#15
Hot price. Would probably buy (much to the chagrin of the missus) if it wasnt Pixmania. But hot price.
#16
I'm pretty certain Pixmania was bought by Dixons last year, so shouldn't need to deal with France any longer, and I suspect a lot of peoples complaints about them are pre-Dixons.......not that Dixons are that great either, but at least it's a UK retail.
#17
Saving of at least £15 from everywhere else I see. Hot.
#18
I'd rather pay the extra £15 to buy from someone more reputable, but if you're willing to take a gamble it's a good price.
#19
A great deal :)
#20
Good price

I've heard stories about pixmania but tbh I have no personal experience, I'd still buy

BUT

I'd buy the Sapphire 4870 and pay the little bit extra, better cooling and better brand, don't know who will have made the Pixmania one but the cooler looks just like stock. The Pixmania one is probably fine, I just prefer Sapphire, better warranty too.

But hot from me

These seem a really good price, tempted to buy one but ive also heard the ati cards are about to have a price drop. So im tempted just to wait it out.
Never purchased from Pixmania before so cant really comment on service.

But voted hot from me on price.

You still need to deal with France, I should know I've just sent one of these graphics cards back to Paris.

The card was faulty (I'm an experienced system builder and I tried everything), so I've got my prayer matt out now...hoping I get my money back. Cost me £13 to post international signed for, which makes a nonsense of trying to save a few bob in the first place.

On that basis I would strongly recommend spending a few more quid and stick to the UK.

Pixmania, worst retailer ive ever used, hot product tho
#24
have bought from them about three or four times and had no problems at all.

Wait till something goes wrong to experience just how bad Pixmania is, people are voting cold because of this. They really are terrible, I'm surprised they're still going.

Just google Pixmania and you'll find 1000s of disgruntled customers. Anyone who is considering buying from them PLEASE read the reviews first, you'll regret it otherwise.

There is about to be a price drop as ive said on previos threads its suppose to happen when nvidia release there revised 9800gtx as the 250 model and ati are about to drop the 4890. Its killing me not to spend but i must resist a bit longer but the best buy is the 1gb version of the XFX radion on novatech for £166 i noticed it days back but have thought i will wait but the xfx is the most expensive ati card its £235 on scan and £250 on ebuyer.
#27
VERY good price.
I personally would never be tempted by pixmania again.
I brought a camera off them a while ago but cancelled the order before dispatch
I paid in pounds and they refunded in euros.................this was when the pound was strong!!! Had to go through my credit card to get the full refund :whistling:
