Do I dare set foot in the world of Crossfire? I could pair this up with my XXX 5850... tempting.
#3
Why cold? :S
#4
fantastic price! if only i could afford it :( have some heat

cold voters are probs nvidia fan boys, im neither running nvidia atm, but seeing as this runs cooler then a gtx 460 i went with this if i was into overclocking then the 460 would of been chose.

this should get flaming hot wish i would of posted it as found out last night from a friend.

Can somebody hurry up and buy them before I pull the trigger.
You will save me money and the grief of cramming a second card into an MATX lol.

Thanks.

Is this better than the 6850?

It's almost identical in performance to a 6870.

To be fair, its more in between the hd 6850 and hd 6870.

Seems to benefit quite a few titles, in my case I just can't decide if it's worth the installation, extra heat and potential software issues. Probably more sensible to evict my current card and replace with the forthcoming ATI offerings.

What's annoying is that I can't buy two of them........if I'm going to Crossfire I'd want two of the same make......... :(

That's also a reason I'm holding back. My existing card is factory overclocked (plus it would look prettier with a duplicate card lol). The main problem is that the non-standard cards are holding their price or no longer easily available.

cant you just create 2 accounts?

I plunged, i have xfire 5770 but they are not living upto my expectations and very funny with what games ect. I know its not no performance increase but its a single card and not losing out if i sell my cards for say 70 each

Wow, what's with all the ATI deals? Have they lowered their unrealistic prices due to the GTX460?
#23
Is it worth replacing my 8800 Ultra with one of these do you think ?

Good deal.
I'd go for it if I hadn't recently bought a 5770.
Only 3 left now.
#27
I'd avoid the Gigabyte one if you intend on having duel screens, suffers from a well known hardware flicker issue.

Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5850 from play.com is a pre order released on 6/12/10.

Anyone got experience of play pre orders. Do they deliver to schedule. I want 1 for sons xmas gift.

great find BTW.

Curious to see what card we get, i.e. whether it's a vanilla ATI card or some crappy OEM manufacturer...

Pre orders with Play have been fine with me in the past, took the plunge and pre-ordered this one myself as well! Crazy price for a beast of a card!!!
#33
sorry guys ... bought the last one!

That was resolved a long time ago with revised drivers (a LOT of 5XXX cards suffered from it, mostly when overclocked).
