Ordered mine today, will be interesting to see what hd 5870 vapor x model it is. Im hoping it is the oc version with memory clocked at 5000mhz.. Was gonna get an nvidia card but it seems the latest 400 series cards aren't very good with power or heat. Happy with the price of this one!

Not sure why its getting voted cold, this same card is £384.72 at ebuyer?! http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190143

Doubt it will be the OC version as it is lited on the site. HERE.

For anybody with crossfire support I'd go with 2x 5830's instead. HERE

Would rather have one card that is more powerful, and using less power/heat and space than a crossfire setup, and then later if really needed could add another card. Each to there own though :)

Yes very true and one card is only an for many. 2x 5870 vapor-x, that would be a monster of a system!

Cold possibly due to it being an expensive item from Pixmania. I'd rather spend a bit more and have UK laws to backup any warranty issues. That and this card should be retailing for ~£230 by now, based on all previous generations 6+ months after release.

Not voted either way tho.

Yes but then they had competition so made next to nothing on the cards, besides memory was cheaper than now too. Now it's time to make a little profit on then while Nvidia play about with their joke's of graphics cards (470/480)

Yeah I get what your saying about these cards being expensive, but this is the cheapest price for this card currently. Thought that was the idea of the site lol

I have shopped with pixmania before and never had any problems :)

This SHOULDN'T be cold. Better cooling than the reference model and probably cheaper than the reference model anywhere else....I have my own gripes with pixmania but still, voted hot

IF this is a Saphire Vapor-x OC then it is a very good deal, however the text says it is a Pixmania Vapor-x HD5870 and the picture is not of a Saphire Vapor-X it is completely different.

Aso the tech spec on pixmania quotes the memory speed as 1250Mhz which is reference speed, the Saphire Vapor-x runs at 1275Mhz.

Buyer beware.

The reference speed is actually 1200mhz x4 = 4800mhz. The oc 'Sapphire' version is 1250mhz x4= 5000mhz. Last year I ordered a HD 4890 from pixemania that showed a generic picture but it was the sapphire model. It should be fine, looking forward to getting it!

I guess people are voting this cold becausce its an expensive item, but as its the cheapest for this card by a long way im happy to pay it. Hopefully others who have the money who are looking for a hd 5870 will save a bit on this one :)

I'd buy one now at that price but not from Pixmania. Google them.

Yeah I know what your saying as there are negative reviews of the pixmania site, but there are negative reviews of all big retailers. I personally have had problems with Dabs, Overclockers and other uk sites with faulty items and getting them returned. I have shopped with pixmania before and it has been fine.

Remember as well that if someone is happy with a purchase they don't tend to make a thread or post about on the internet, people only do this when something goes wrong. All the big companies have lots of negative experiences posted about on the net, it comes down to individual experience.

I will also add I shop with Very.co.uk aswell, they have very negative reviews. For me though that website has been great, they always deliver on time and honour any voucher codes and returns. I would go as far to say they have given me the best customer service of any online retailer, yet according to reviews they are terrible...

Code doesn't seem to work any more?

There's negative and there's pixmania negative. I have read a lot of bad reviews on retailers and had experience from some bad ones but pixmania seem the worst according to the price comparison sites.

type this into Google: pixmania bad

Tasters
http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.pixmania-pro.co.uk
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/22/35210-how-bad-is-pixmania.html

And that is only a few.

Beware ---> They seem to advertise as in stock when in fact it is not.

Card arrived today and is indeed the retail boxed Sapphire HD 5870 Vapor X. Very happy with the card, so quiet I can't even hear it! For anyone else considering buying one of these from pixmania, don't be put of by the cold voters! Great card and great price! :-D
