Why do people buy these? Never understood. Like decking.
#3
Are these essentially covers for radiators?

Because
1 - They hide ugly radiators
2 - They prevent kids touching hot radiators

My missus reason for wanting them, no room for a side table in the hallway to put thing on so instead buy one of these, cover the radiator and also acts like a table.
Also the cat loves them, the other one we have he spends 90% of his life on there.

Supposed to be energy efficient to, they direct the heat back into the room where its needed

Totally fair point regarding kids safety, but they are way more ugly than ant radiator....

1. an ugly box to hide an ugly radiator, hmm....bit like ugly women who wear expensive make up...pointless
2. eh? why not wrap the kids in cotton wool? my kids have never touched hot rads

guess they are handy as a table but if the energy efficient bit is true then thats fine

Good point. Forgot about kid safety.

Much, much cheaper in screwfix....

Will there be any difference?

As for reasons - Make a useful shelf, disguise radiator (I prefer the look)

apparently they stop the heat going into your room too!
