This deal goes around quite often but it seems to be back on again - 10 issues of the Radio Times delivered to you for £1. Sign up by Direct Debit and you can simply cancel the DD again through your own bank so it just wont renew after you've received the 10 issues - I've done this a few times without any problems at all.

Min £1.01 TCB available too

Sherlock. Got halfway through the episode and stopped watching. Dreadful idea. The idea of present day was fantastic and worked. This idea ISN'T & DOESN'T.
Yeah I know its for Radio Times, but just reminded me. Voted hot, by way

If the webform states that you've had too many trial subscriptions, simply tick the "this is a gift" box.

Haha! I enjoyed it but I hope they don't do any more like that - a one off was fine though :)

I subscribe to the Radio Times and in normal circumstances I wouldn't consider cancelling my subscription each year just to avail myself of these sorts of deals. However , the way in which the cover prices creeps up appallingly each January will make me think twice in future. Here's the history-

Increase from £1.60 to £1.80 January 2014 = 12.5%
Increase from £1.80 to £2.00 January 2015 = 11.1%
Increase from £2.00 to £2.30 January 2016 = 15.0%

So from December 2013 to January 2016, a period of a little over two years, the cover price has increased by 70p or 43.75% from £1.60 to £2.30.

And, cynically, the increase is always actioned in the issue following the 2-week Christmas issue to make the increase less obvious....

Up until the 2014 increase, I always received two months emailed notice of the intended increase but RT have dispensed with this formality for the last two years....

Better still go through TCB and get at least £1.01 cashback which covers the cost of the subscription.

Some good offers on there not just radio times. Five issues of countryfile magazine for a fiver. Saving at least £20.

If you get gardeners world £5 for five issues that should include the yearly 2 for 1 pass they give out in April. Hot for making me notice that (can't be bothered with going separate thread but won't be offended if someone does post that deal).

You may be able to use this code RTG5215A to give you 12 issues.

Had this offer twice now and decided not to bother. Must have read about 2 or three copies, the rest just sat in the selophane waiting to go in the recycling. A dull magazine that since the advent Tivo / SKY + has lost its raison d'être. OK if you like crosswords and articles about Mary Berry but its just too old, stuffy and middle class for me

Fair enough! I'd usually only buy the Christmas edition (and usually manage to get that in the same £1 offer so it still works out cheaper). I don't use it for a TV guide as such as that's all on the telly these days anyway, but it's good to see new stuff coming up and I actually quite like the crossword (and I'm *only* 34 lol). £1 for anything is bargain these days :p

Can you cancel the DD as soon as they've taken the £1 and still get the 10 issues does anyone know?

You can. I've done that several times over recent years.

I've cancelled a few subscriptions I've purchased a couple of weeks after the payment came out, never received a single magazine.

Never chased it as it was only a couple of quid.

Tried this a couple of times but won't do it again as the magazine didn't show up about a third of the time.

Like others I find don't find the time to read them, thought I would use it to look for new series to record but there is just too much to go through but then again it is free(with the cashback).

With a cheap NOWTV ent(6m) and movie(4m) subs with freeview and VM lowest option we have more TV than anyone could watch anyway.

Someone was telling me the tedious "feminist" message was to please the woman who plays Molly in the show. And ruined the episode for me. Whenever the show raised from awful was when the superb Andrew Scott was on screen

Just an update. Did as many suggested by cancelling after payment taken and only received 2 magazines out of so far 3 weeks.

I've always just marked it on a calendar to remember to cancel the DD near to the renewal date, rather than cancelling straight away. Not had a problem doing it that way.

I'll give that a shot, thanks!
