took this offer in spring, had a reminder in my phone to cancel the dd but was on holiday and forgot........:)

guess I owe them anyway, so no complaints
#2
Have taken up this offer a few times, great bargain as long as you remember to cancel the DD after the £1 goes out of your account! Heat added.

Tried to get this last time, they said it was only valid for certain people, sent me one issue as a courtesy and cancelled the subscription

V good deal & thanks for posting.

The Radio Times always makes TV next week look better than the crap they show this week ! How's that ?!
#7
Love a bit of radio times! They always do this offer just before Christmas which is amazing!
#8
How old is the issue in the photo?

Good deal though.
#9
May 2014 in the photo

I remember then running with that exact same cover pic in spring 1995 when Fawlty Towers had a rerun on BBC1.

I'm on for my third straight £1 offer. Saves a lot of money over buying the t.v choice every week and also time having to queue up just to buy a magazine.

Try our house. Other half insists on buying What's On TV magazine. Reads it to find out what's going on in the soaps but then watches them anyway. Where's the surprise when she watches them, eh?

Also, ever noticed for fans of that particular publication that they place shock soap plot headlines on the front cover to lure them in but they always have a question mark. Read them and you find its' because they aren't exactly true.

You've arrived in the nick of time rkrk

I've just been informed that my RT 6 month sub will go up to £46.80.

I'm cancelling that account (4 years a subscriber) and going for this deal (via "new " subscriber)

Radio Times are getting like banks.
Screw your faithful customers and give all the best rates to new ones

Many thanks - and HOT!

Alternatively press "Guide" on your remote.

Sheesh.

Can you cancel the Direct Debit after receiving the 1st copy (and continue to receive the next 11 copies) or do you wait to cancel the Direct Debit after you've received the 12th copy ?
1 Like #23
You can cancel as soon as £1 is out. I normally email them, and they reply by saying 'your free trial will expire on x/x/x (I.e at the 12th issue)'

A Sharpie and Highlighter makes a mess of your Computer Screen !!!

And doesn't need to be turned on, it's immediate, and can sit by you on the sofa !!!

I've paid £4 for 12 months worth of RT... a bargain.

AFAIK Radio Times is still a weekly publication so 12 issues will be closer to three months than twelve.

Isn't this deal always on?

Four editions for £1 is always on but every so often it becomes twelve for £1.

C'mon now, do the Maths

12 issues for £1

ie 3 months for £1

Four separate deals of 12 issues for £1 = 48 issues for £4 !!!!!

Note I said... 12 months, not one year

Has anyone had any issues with security, Google chrome says site's security certificate is not trusted and that I should not proceed. I was trying to order this plus a monthly at 5 for £5 and am now a bit worried about setting up a direct debit.

We used to go for these £1 RT deals but ultimately it was a waste of £1 - nobody even opened the magazine packs. We just look for programmes online or on the TV itself.

Maybe for your Gran or Gramps.
#34
This is still working and more importantly, if i have got my math right and you take up the offer now, you should get the xmas edition included in your trial as i believe that is released mid December, Go for it, i just did. 8)

@ OP, perhaps you should alter the title to reflect the fact that the xmas edition is now included and the thread might get the heat it deserves.
In the mean time, i will edit and add the info in the text.

Ordered inc Xmas 2014 edition, thanks

I could have written these very words myself. Have subscribed many times - don't think I ever read an issue, threw most of them away unopened.

Never really understood why peeps visit a thread where they have no interest in taking up the deal and post negative comments dissing the deal. Does it really sway others into thinking, wow this guy thinks this is a pile of carp, it must be bad then so i won't go for what looks like a fantastic deal. Please just leave deal threads to those who are interested.
Rant over.:p

I'm not dissing the deal, as I said I've taken it up several times. Ended up getting a full time subscription for my mom, and my sister also moved onto a full time subscription after one of these deals. Almost tempted to go for it again just for the Xmas issue, but I know the other issues will just start piling up unopened. Great deal if you've got plenty of leisure time!
#39
I did a similar offer last year and the subscription skipped the Christmas issue - is it def included?
#40
It was included when I had the same offer last year! I just renewed my 12 week subscription after it ends with the issue on sale next week. This subscription will start with the issue after that so works out fine :) Just diarise the end of this one and renew 2 weeks before with the next best offer to synchronise start dates.
