I paid £4 the last time as what I thought a fair price would be, but generally I'm with you. If the music industry had kept its prices inline with costs and tangible product we would not have the bit torrent culture we have now. Their greed has spoilt it for everyone, especially for the artists.

Don't start me on itunes, Apples expolitation is immoral.

An ageing music fan.

It won't sit on a shelf with the rest of the collection. Not a download fan either. The vinyl is a more attractive idea.

I guess you guys think servers are free right? and the hosting centre is free too.. and the website developers works for free too.. and level3 give bandwidth for free too? And the software licences are free too? And the firewalls? and the switches/routers are all free? You have NO IDEA what was involved but love to shout you mouth off.

Those involved have spent 18+ hour days getting this right so customers don't have crashes/bandwidth problems/timeout and you whinge about paying a few pounds. Don't like it, don't buy it and don't steal it.

Sandbag, not sure what you are reading, or smoking, but the comments were about the tangibility of the product. We're talking about owning something we can hold on to, commodity fetishism and not just being able to hear something.

I used to be the same and wouldn't touch DD, even now I prefer a CD or physical copy but the fact is my house is absolutely full of media now and a lot of it is backed up and never touched again. I ordered the MP3 version, will likely only ever listen to it on my Ipod anyway so it works for me.

The pre-order price for the cd is around £9 online, (http://www.zavvi.com/cd/radiohead/the-king-of-limbs/10359987.html) so £6 seems fair to me as an initial release price.

vinyl edition is marketed as the world's first newspaper album - does no-one remember Jethro Tull's "Thick As a Brick"?
that's the trouble with youngsters today - always thinking that they've invented something new....(_;)

It was also said that downloads are a "rip off". You're buying an album and paying for the music. The CD, case and booklet are worth pennies. Preferring a physical disc isn't an issue, but not having one doesn't make the music of less worth.
