A well received bike and at a great price (40%) off and at the time of posting it seems all sizes are available. For those wondering what type of bike it is it's basically a road bike with beefier tyres to increase reliability and comfort on less than perfect surfaces (so British roads then ;)) The geometry is geared up with a nod to comfort for long rides as well to ultimate performance.

Would make a great commuter bike that's still fun to get wriggle on with at the weekend for a fun ride, especially if you fancy heading down that mysterious dirt track to see where it goes...... :)

Seems to be well priced in comparison to other sellers but this looks like it's value to be honest, maybe even a little high given the spec?

Will this take mud guards?

mud guard mounts, rack mounts and weight quoted at 11.1kg

Not a featherweight but it is made to take a bit more of a beating.

Price seems there or thereabouts. Would be wary of the own brand rims and very basic finishing kit. Surprisingly good looking frame though, schwalbe tyres and carbon fork are good things to have.

To beat this price/spec you would have to buy something second handlike a Boardman CX. This is brand new and represents a true Hotdeal. Hot from me.

I think they use the same same frame right the way up to the £1500 model.

Hmmmm, click the link, go to product data, the answer is there. If you are too lazy to do that, I don't think a bike of any variety is right for you!

Why go out of your way just to be nasty?

awwww, your self-righteousness is quite pathetic.

Given its Claris based drivetrain and basic components price seems about right. Not amazing value but certainly a good basic do-it-all road bike.

FOUR HUNDRED NOTES???? I bought a bike for sixty five squids from Tesco's.

SIXTY FIVE SQUIDS!!!

£65?? I bought a car for that and it had a boot full of gold bullion in it.

Cable disc brakes are a sod to setup. Also Claris ain't great at this price so the Rrp is definitely inflated.

Don't believe you! What car was it?

I have to disagree, cable discs don't require any specialist tools or mucking about with brake fluid. There are so many YouTube tutorials to help too.

I'm looking for a road bike as I'm going to start cycling to work. I've been considering theBtwin Triban 500 SE for £299.99 from Decathlon. Is this worth the extra £90? thx

My brother and a friend have both been riding T500SEs for a couple of years and very happy with them. If you are sticking to roads I'd say that's the way to go on a budget. If you are going off road on cycle tracks and the like this might suit. It's more versatile but heavier and more a jack of all trades probably fine for some road, light off road, winter commute. If it's definitely a road bike you want Triban 500SE all the way.
