Hot from me. Looks a nice bike for price. Well spotted OP.

I bought a Raleigh Hybrid from Halfords 6 months ago - and its rusted and fallen apart! I complained and they said 'did you use it in the rain'! I responded I live in the UK what do you think! Nothing else just sod off! I'd kept it in the Summer House so it should not have rusted! Beaware!

If you saw it rusting you should have done something about it.......

I imagine it was warm ish in the summer house? And probably higher than average humidity...?

    "Was £289.99"? When?
Was £159.99 on-line last week, so "actual reduction from most-recent price = £10".
Seems reasonable price, but potentially questionable to base a purchase decision on some marketing hype suggesting huge savings.

Wouldn't trust my local Halford's to build a bike safely! from past experience!

Find a bargain bike on Amazon,at least if it gets a fault, they are brilliant
at exchanging or sorting out the problem whilst under warranty.

Heat added, but definatly a bike for the older men. This won't get you a lot of street credit. 8)

That's why I roll on one of these:

    Hence the quotation marks.

I wouldn't buy anything from Halfords if they were the last store on earth. Awful customer service.

There are numerous very good Halfords stores around. Likewise there are several LBS' near me which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

Same goes for Raleigh. Cheap in every way except price

In that price range I'd rather spend my money on one of the hybrids at Decathlon

"...street credit..." What's that - like when you find a fiver on the pavement?

Interesting, thanks for this. Think I'm going to go with the Rockrider 5.0 for £99. Looks like a HUKD favourite from past threads. Technically a mountain bike not a hybrid but no suspension and lighter than this one, so I don't really understand where a noticeable disadvantage would lie.

btwin from decathlon are well better than anything raleigh can produce

Good luck when you have to change the chain.oO

That bike is horrible not worth more than £70 brand new.

There are much better bikes out there for the same money and I would avoid halfords bikes altogether as they use really low quality parts.

From an older bloke's perspective, I'd imagine you look a complete tit on that contraption.

At least it will give the "older men" something to laugh at as they pass you.
