oh dear. Do you think Muslim fast for 30 days straight with no breaks? They only fast from before sun up to just after sun down. Inbetween...they eat! The meal they eat before is called suhoor or sehri and when the fast is opened the meal is called iftar.
I'd like to point out that the foods that supermarkets put on offer as part of their Ramadan deals tend to be more aimed at the Asian Muslim population in the UK. Culturally, foods like samosas originated in South Asia. Muslims however, as a collective, are from all over the world and eat all kinds of foods (in the UK there are Muslims who are English, African, Chinese, Malay, European etc etc) - so if its a true Ramadan special, dont just feature foods from Asia or the Middle East!
Thanks OP
I'm not Muslim, but just like Christmas - if the supermarkets are going to celebrate with you, l'll have some of those cheap deals too!

Apart from the rice and tinned tomatoes, rest are consumed during Iftar, when you break your fast.
