It was a mis-price at Play.com. It was £14.99 but then they changed it. I ordered at the time and they honoured it. My box set arrived on Saturday:thumbsup:

A questionable moral premise frames the action of 100s of people being mown down by various weapons. Relentless stuff, it will satisfy your blood lust but leave you questioning the film's motive,

Can I be the first person in this thread to shout the catchphrase "Adrianne!!!!"? Thanks! :-D

I agree. worst film i've seen in ages:x

A brilliant film which tells the truth about what is going on in Burma. Shocking violence but it's reportedly exactly what happens as each village is systematically destroyed.

It's also very bloody but that's what will happen when these types of weapons are used.

I've seen this film about eight times now. Shocking true account of Burma in Sylvester Stallone's style. It's only about 1 hour and ten minutes long. Short and straight to the point.

Also has an excellent soundtrack to go with it which I've listened to a countless number of times in the car on my travels.

Great buy !
#20
So is it £8 or £9 checked online and it is £9 so might just order online as don't need to go instore till the weekend.
#21
Not the classic that First Blood was / is, but still suprisingly good.

Stallone has cleverly kept things realistic , not attempting stunts that would look out of place for a veteran of his age.

Brilliant film, well worth buying.
#22
I went shopping today and it was £9 also advertised on tv £9

what ? more deaths ...lol
#24
Some truly horrific scenes that will make you look away, followed by some more horrific scenes, then the last scene is pretty horrifying but in a different way.

Rent it, don't buy it. I would never consider watching this film twice, there really is no point.

Review in a Hurry: War—what is it good for? Apparently, in this pointless, gory flick, it's just an excuse to revive John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone, who also cowrote and directed) as a 61-year-old, pudgy killing machine out to rescue some clueless missionaries in the jungles of Burma. In other words: absolutely nothing.

Apparently the critics love this movie :whistling:

I'd never even heard of Rambo 4 until seeing this thread actually, is it a straight to DVD?

okish price but I thought the film was so bad that the Odeon cinema chain wouldn't show it.....
#28
£9 in store at Ponder's End but they had a box set of all 4 RAMBO films for £25.

I thought this film was poor and i was looking forward to it. but as a retired soldier i can't watch these film's without picking out mistakes :).
The guy's in the movie are ex special force's but they don't even disable the enemy vechile's and so on and so

sorry i can't help it.

Nope, very wrong. Odeon wanted a huge share of the ticket sales, and the distributor fell out with them. The film was successful in the cinema here, especially considering Odeon didn't show it.

Its a fantastic film, however surely people know what Rambo is about, and if you like that genre then you will love this. If you hate that genre then you'll hate it. Simple really. £9 in my local Tescos too. But thats a great deal. Voted HOT HOT HOT

I'm in the same boat as you - if you want to watch a really bad movie about "soldiering" watch Tears of the Sun with Bruce Willis - you'll be in tears of laughter at this joke of a film - or at least you would be if it wasn't so bloody awful :whistling:

There is one scene - I was watching in the cinema - when they come into a clearing and just as they appeared I turned to my girlfriend and whispered "bang" in her ear - she looked a bit puzzled, next thing, "bang" and one of the guys drop dead.....

compared to the dire Die Hard 4, Rambo 4 is a film classic...........

So, you are saying that Rambo 4 is a really good film then

I thought Casino Royale was very watchable - unless it was that chick in the red dress (phwoooaaaar) that swayed my opinion :whistling:

Yup. Casino Royale was merely ok , too long, devoid of any real character, not exactly brilliant for its genre.

Rambo 4, is full of character, it has what any good film needs, emotion.

I certainly would never watch Casino again, almost fell asleep the 1st time, but a film like Rambo you can put on whenever you need a fix of ultra violence ( and who doesnt these days ? )

Emotion and Silverter Stallone (based on his acting skills) would appear somewhat doubtful :-D

I'll see if any of my mates have Rambo 4 and have a gander

For a recent violent movie, I thoroughly enjoyed A History of Violence

If you have not seen A Clockwork Orange, don't be mislead that it is a violent film, it's violent in the sense that West Side story involves violence via dance routines.
The book, however, is violent and recommended - A Clockwork Orange, not, West Side Story that is :whistling:
