Brimming with action while incisively examining the nature of truth, Rashomon is perhaps the finest film ever to challenge perceptions of reality and justice. Through an ingenious use of camera and flashbacks, Kurosawa reveals the complexities of human nature as four people recount different versions of the story of a man's murder and the rape of his wife. Toshiro Mifune gives another commanding performance in the eloquent masterwork that revolutionized film language and introduced Japanese cinema to the world.

:thumbsup:Classic film, part of the origins of modern cinema. Ask Tarrantino and Rodrigez this is what they learned from, a master at his best. This is a film that all of the genre interest should see, again and again, like all Kurosawas films, its a classic, 'People forget the unpleasant things. They only remember what they want to remember' So many classic lines!
Bow and humble before the mighty Akira Kurosawa!
Remade a hundred times and the original is still an amazing film.

Check out the elegantly titled Italian version - The End of the World in Our Usual Bed in a Night Full of Rain
This film RULES

Have some heat.
cheers-time to replace vhs

Damn...I just can't bring myself to do it, it just seems too easy.
The book behind the film also comes highly recommended, with a forward written by Haruki Murakami!
Classic line when the Simpsons are going to Japan;

Marge - But you said you liked Rashomon.
Homer - That's not how I remember it.

Ordered, thanks op! :thumbsup:
