The Gamespot review isn't so conclusive. I've heard of Ratchet and Clank loads of times but I've never played one yet. What would be the best one to start with? A Crack in Time seems to get good reviews across the board.

thanks

I'll leave it and put the £7.99 towards the new one. Love these games, fun, good gameplay and look fantastic.

Yeah this just concludes the Tools of Destruction story so is more of a short addon. I bought it on PSN day it came out for £9.99. Just put it towards the brand new one.

I would personally say it would be worth while digging out the PS2 games. They were graphically head and shoulders above anything else on the PS2 so should have aged quite well.

They'll be cheap as chips now and the core formula hasn't changed in the leap to the current generation of consoles so they will still play fantastically. The other advantage is you won't miss any of the (many) in jokes that crop up throughout the series.

All 3 have the same gameplay apart from Clank's asides. I'd go for Tools of Destruction first then give it a breather for a year then play A Crack in Time.
If you have played Quest for Booty, you unlock some stuff in Crack in Time which is nice.

Are you sure about that?

Shadow of Colossus springs to mind.

Its proper Ratchet and Clank gameplay but as someone else said it is really short...plus it doesn't really have much replay value tbh.

I have a question can you play ps2 games on a ps3 slim ? hubby wants one for christmas and I won't give in as he has over 30 games for PS2. I like Ratchet so maybe be swayed if they can be used. Thanks for the help in advance

Nice stocking filler, thanks :)

This Ratchet & Clank was a good game but it's recommended you play Tools of Destruction first as you will understand the story more. Quest for Booty I beat it 3 in hours on Normal but it was still a great platformer and for £7.99 it's a great price for it however Clank only appears in about 2 short cut scenes the game is focused on Ratchet. After you have finished this one the story continues on to A Crack in Time.
