Originally launched in 1952 by Bausch and Lomb the Ray-Ban Wayfarer became an instant classic. The special edition 2140 is being hand-made from the same materials to the same specifications. From the hinge detail to the angled face the special edition is identical in every way to the classic original. This is still one of the must have sunglasses for 2009

The classic Wayfarer re lauched. Worn by many A listers this summer.

A variety of so many coloured frames and lenses. Free 3-5 working day delivery or can upgrade this at the checkout.

I spend £140 on a pair of ray bans for my hoilday they broke in a week while on hoilday , i did drop them but only once and all the glass came out , but when i pay this much for sunglasses i expect them to take a fall or 2 , never again!

Ive had better quailty ones from £20 sunglasses what never break when dropped

On the other hand, I bought a pair of Wayfarer II's in the US twenty years ago for either 50 quid or 50 dollars, I can't remember which. I couldn't count the times I've dropped them, sat on them, chewed them and whacked them, and they've never had a lens drop out. I don't think Wayfarers have ever cost £140 so I reckon you must be mistaken. Wouldn't like to say that this is the cheapest price on earth for Wayfarers but there must be some dodgy copies out there to avoid. Maybe you got yours on eBay from someone in China? If these replicas are as well-constructed as the originals (and not just visually identical), they'll last a lifetime. So £70 divided by 20 years is less than a penny a day.

If you factor in how often the UK has sun it's probably more like £1/day ;-)

Well thats how much i paid in the house of fraiser and i doubt they sell copies , she claimed they were so expensive cause of being brand new out , i got the first ones so i was told lol , i liked them so i paid it , now wished i never bothered.

I will be taking them back now though just to have a moan , i doubt ill get anywhere though as when i tried to put them back in the frame i made things worse and chipped a bit of the glass off and bent the frame a little

Yes i since found them like £30 cheaper online but i perfer not to buy these sort of things online as i like to see if they suit my face etc first

Btw they were aviator ones im talking about
