- Fully programmable keys + 5 additional gaming keys with on the fly macro recording

- Individually backlit keys with improved lighting

- Easy access media keys for convenient volume control and media playback

- Mechanical key architecture with distinct tactile feel and quick response

- Gamer Keyboard. 10 key rollover for extreme anti-ghosting

A slightly-dated, but still powerful model. The price has been hovering around £90 to £100 for a while and just dropped to £65 today. Good price for an entry-to-intermediate-level mechanical gaming keyboard.

That's quite a good deal

Honestly I wouldn't bother. Razer products are cheaply made. They may look good but don't expect them to work properly or last long. I have the Razer mamba mouse and every now and again it will just stop working. The same happens to my friend who has the same mouse. He also has the blackwidow rgb keyboard and he's constantly complaining about his keys sticking amongst other issues with the lights. I have the corsair strafe rgb keyboard and I couldn't recommend it enough. it's built solid and feels brilliant. Haven't had a single problem with it and it looks amazing. Probably one of the best keyboards out there. I'd take corsair any day over another razer product.

Thank you for your comment. I agree with your point about Corsair vs Razer, the fact that I'm typing on a Corsair K70 right now says something. Buuuut, hope you'd also agree this is a good price for Razer :)

definitely mate, best price I've seen for this keyboard. X) I've voted hot just for that reason :) left my comment only to warn people of what they may end up with. This particular keyboard has good reviews on amazon so who knows :p

Had both a razor and corsair and would pick the corsair every time. The build quality is way higher and they use proper cherry keys. You can't go wrong with a k70 and browns.

How does this compare to the Mionix Zibal 60 that's also on Amazon for £59.99?
#8
I agree, quality of Razer products that i have used has not been great at all.

I own the tournament version of this (no backlight/tenkeyless) and I was pleasantly surprised with it. Was around £60 at the time. Razers key switches are not too bad people liken them to Cherry Blues but my only point of comparison is my Cherry Browns (on my Corsair K70) and they really do feel very similar.

Corsair > Razer ? I'll have some of what you're smoking, cheers.

Got one of these awhile ago still runs perfect for me. I haven't felt better keys on any mechanical keyboard I've used yet. They are really loud though, I believe they rate even above cherry blues in sound

Half decent price for what it is, almost bought the new ver for £75 when they were discounted on Razers website... almost bought an Atrox too.

Fortunately before I pulled the trigger on each occasion I sobered up!

Despite my feeling on this "plastic pro gaming" company, from my own experience is that their stuff doesn't last too long... oh and the TIMES (plural) the Atrox died during the Evo Grand Final matches.

Not voting either way as honestly, at this price you could probably end up with something much worse.

You'd have to pay me to use this. I find it hilarious this is hot at £64.99 but this deal:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/victop-mechanical-waterproof-keyboard-blue-switches-27-99-amazon-sold-victop-fulfilled-2523432

Is downvoted for "not being Cherry MX" at the £27.99 pricepoint. I'm sure that keyboard has less chance of falling apart. And yes, comparable Chinese switches in both.

great deal. I have the version without a number pad

Good deal for Razer, but not great value. Not Cherry switches, but with a Cherry price tag, even at £64.99 (you can sometimes find some Cherry own brand or CM Storm keyboards around this price).

Reluctant heat++.

Had the 2013 blackwidow variant with cherry blue mx keys from January 2013 - £65 from aria. Used it daily for up to 16h a day without incident, just a little loud clacking away at 3am. Guess ymmv.

I've got this keyboard and paid double this a few years bk... no issues no problem.. well worth this..

Stunning deal £10 (ish) more than prime day (I think) so may be worth waiting until black Friday

oh and personally preferred this to the steelseries.... ITS SO CLICKY!!!

I've been reading similar comments about Razer products for years. Wouldn't touch 'em personally.

not sure if i need one as I don't game much if not at all but i use my computer for coding, typing and other uses, question is should I get a mechanical keyboard

I would rather pay more for Corsair K70/95 (Pre RGB) Mechanical Keyboard as their better quality and the RMA process is much easier and faster, *IF* you have any problems.

Agreed, better pay more and get the K70

Razer stuff is complete garbage. Not even worth this price.

I spend lots of time coding and writing, switching to a mechanical keyboard was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Cherry blue is the one you want.

My £5 dell keyboard has lasted years

It's the same with anything you buy, some have good experiences others have bad experiences. I have had my Razer Blackwidow for years now, it's one of the originals, and is still an amazing keyboard.

My son had one of these and he didn't like it so he bought a different keyboard. I thought he was being stupid so I used it on my PC. He was absolutely right - I've now gone back to using my cheap Logitech keyboard.
The Razer keyboard is stiff and unresponsive - quite often the keys didn't register because I hadn't hit them hard enough. I found it so annoying that I just had to swap it out. Now I either have to bin it or give it to a charity shop (but that would probably be unfair on the sucker who bought it) so will probably throw it away.
