Razorpit razor sharpener - Firebox £13.48 delivered (minus 10% Quidco)
Looked at this, did a bit of research and the concensus is that they do actually allow you to use your blades for longer. This is the cheapest delivered price I could find (£12.28 delivered if you include 10% quidco) which is unusual as I normally find Firebox to be very expensive.
With the price of razor blades, if this can give you an extra month of use out of each blade it should pay for itself in no time!
more details ..
For men, a typical razor blade seems to last around ten to fifteen shaves before it’s good for the bin. Although, if the truth be told, discerning chaps tend to throw them out much sooner than that. After all, shaving with a less-than-perfect blade not only takes longer, but can leave your face and neck looking like raw beef.
But as it turns out, these razors blades aren’t being blunted by stubble – they’re just getting clogged with hair and dead skin. If we could remove this surface gunk, the blades underneath are still sharp, and can be used again and again! Well thankfully there is a way.
Clean your razor with the RazorPit Razor Blade Sharpener and you could get an incredible one hundred and fifty uses out of your blade – saving time, money, the environment and your neck! Just spend a few seconds between shaves running the blade across the RazorPit’s soft surface. This specially developed material will remove the surface layer of oil, hair and dead skin cells, leaving your razor blade clean and sharp.

Jump to unread Post a CommentI looked around and checked a lot of comments on boards and deal sites (like moneysavingsexpert) and the feedback was positive. I hate to shave with a blunt razor, but am getting fed up with the ridiculous prices that they charge - I mean, how much does it cost for them to manufacture a razor blade?
mine has not arrived yet, but I do have some blades that are ready for the bin, I'll post back as to how I get on when it arrives
I use Gillette Blue II, that are only 20p each, so i'm quite happy to change em after about 15 shaves, and have a brand new razor.

i take your comments on board but surely it doesn't cost this much to make this either, we can't win!

I agree that it is 'strategically priced' .. however it IS re-useable and *could* save you considerably more than it's initial cost in buying new blades. I use Fusion blades that cost about £8-10 for three :(

i to use gillette blue II, fixed or slalom with shaving brush, soap stick and very hot water,
where do get them for 20p each? coz i paid £3 for 8 @ Tesco last week, best buys are usualy 2 for £5 and i jump at them,
btw i use these for 2 shaves only, yes i like sharp blades, would this item sharpen them? as blue II not on list?

This contraption will only touch the cutting edge of the blade.

Yes it would work, the only blades it doesn't work with are the ones with thin wires across the front of the blade.

Asda sell the fixed blade Gillette Blue II pack of 20 for £4.
Im paying £9+ for 4 Fusion Blades.
Nothing worse then trying to get that last shave out of blunt raises and end up plucking yourself smooth :(

I've got an old pair of jeans I'd like to try this on, still cheaper to replace the jeans at current prices for blades.

Jeans sharpening worked for me.
Aye, it might fade them but some folk seem to want that.
Also, do it in the wrong direction and cut holes in them, increase the "value" by £30. lol
Now, all I need is a post for some cheap paint to spill on them and I'll be so "fashionable!" ROFLMAO 8)

Nope - works with all blades that dont have the protector wires
