We're cutting fuel prices to lowest level for more than a year (Asda) by 3p a litre (129.7p per litre for unleaded and 134.7p a litre for diesel) from 12 June £1.29

We’re cutting fuel prices by 3p a litre from tomorrow – taking prices to their lowest level for more than a year.

From tomorrow you’ll pay no more than 129.7p per litre for unleaded and 134.7p a litre for diesel when you fill up at any of our 195 forecourts nationwide. We’ve been able to cut fuel prices by 11p since their peak in April.

We know the cost of transport is one of the biggest pressures on household budgets – so when we get the chance to reduce fuel prices we do it right across the country.

Research taken from PetrolPrices.com shows that some retailers get away with charging their customers more for fuel – as much as 8p a litre more – in towns without an Asda nearby.

We launched our new petrol price comparison site in March, powered by independent price checker www.petrolprices.com, to enable drivers across the UK to find the lowest priced fuel before they fill up.

I have voted hot for highlighting this but why do we get so excited about such a low drop. To put things in perspective for 50quid we get 38 litres at 131.9 so by saving 3 pence per litre we save £1.14. If I were to post a deal for say a pair of jeans dropping from £50.00 to £48.86 would I get hot votes, I doubt it! Not having a go at the op at all just laughing about how we get so excited about a tiny reduction. The supermarkets must be loving it!

    Dear Local MP,

I don't like paying lots of duty on my fuel, however I understand that taxes need to be raised to sustain the standard of living that the UK has been accustomed to. So please add it to items I don't buy such as cigarettes, celery and Marmite.

    Best regards,

    A loyal(ish) voter.
