OP "Colour laser printer, Digital TV recorder, Chair/work desk, Surveillance camera" that sounds like one hell of an all-in-one device. If only it also made chips too, then I'd be tempted:)

Twin tuner 250GB personal video recorder with Freeview:
Pros: It is totally silent because has no fan and is small compared to similar units. Remote control is similar to Sky box and very good. Good program guide (EPG) and easy setting for timed recording.

Cons: You need a strong signal area (and I mean really strong). No facility to copy to DVD other than Scart socket (which is a pain)

The laser printer has been £99.99 in various Aldis for weeks. It's a good price. I'm just pointing out that it's not a specific opening offer in Leeds.

Regards,
Mark.

No doubt they have some legal loophole but I bought one last Monday in Shirley after a friend bought one a couple of weeks ago in Castle Bromwich. BTW, the sign in the Shirley branch says "was £119.99" so the £146 looks iffy too.

Regards,
Mark.

I popped in today, they've got loads of :

LCD TVs (15"+ 22"),
UMPCs (10" screen),
SAT Navs,
Speed Camera detectors,
Scanners,
Walkie talkies,
Car twin DVD players
External hard drives
plus more (cant remember exactly!)

all the above are at redcued, special prices for the opening.

Nope, almost completely wrong. it's the same design as the TVonics DVR-250 (also badged as a Wharfedale) It has a fan although it is very quiet and it WILL work with extremely low signal levels, to the extent that recently my aerial has fallen off my chimney and is now sat resting on the roof tiles pointing somewhere towards the floor. I'm 20 miles from Emley Moor, hidden behind a ridge and with a mass of trees on the slope up the ridge. The pictures are still perfect and the signal level reported by the box is pegged at maximum. Compared to the other freeview receivers that are fed from the same aerial (via a distribution amplifier) this receiver is streets ahead. I bought mine from Argos a long time ago for 80 quid on offer but If I'd known about the offer from Aldi sooner I would have bought another one.
