Thanks Rhys135 - just what we needed.

Nice one. Ordered for my daughter. I trust these are different than the Kipper books that she has for homework.

I understand they are the same characters. I meant that I hope these are different BOOKS than the ones my daughter has as homework.

You can enlarge the image on the TBP site, see if you can recognise any. It does say brand new stories so could be different?

The books which are supplied by most schools have a variety of books on each reading stage ( I think it's around 6 books each stage). Can't see how only 8 books would cover ages 4-6.?

Persanally, I'd stick to ones sent home from school and expand their library in other ways. There are lots of other fantastic books for children of this age group.

I agree! I also found that my DS moved on so quickly, and he didn't really go back and re-read books like these.

Saying that, I have bought Phonic reading books in the past for DS, which must have helped him become a confident reader quickly. They didn't cost too much, and are there for my DD to use in a years time. Or they can be sold.

I'm going to vote hot, because I think with my first I would not have hesitated in buying it

We borrow the Read at Home books from the library and my daughter loves them. The colour banner at the top of each book does actually mean something. Purple = level 1 (getting ready); green = level 2 (starting to read) ; blue = level 3 (becoming a reader); and red (which does not seem to be in this particular set - picture only shows five books?) = level 4 (building confidence). At the end of each story, the child is encouraged to think about something in the story and there's even a observation exercise to encourage the child to look carefully at the drawings in the book.

The Book People advertise this as RRP £31.92 and at £6.99 you save £24.93. However, the hardbacks only cost £2.99 and this set are paperbacks so the "what you save" pricing is grossly exaggerated. This does not detract that Rhys135 has posted a great find - thank you!

This set has 13 books & is on offer if you buy both sets 1 & 2 ( however the 2nd set in currently OOS )
Nice confidence building reading books for several levels of reader.

Taken my money right away. Books ordered 16/1, still not dispatched. Called and they said they'd be with me by 30/1. Not the level of service I've came to expect from online retailers.
