sounds like may be useful then for beginners as well as those even mildly competent
This is showing as £19.99 for me?! I wouldn't mind buying this!

Edit: Sorry just read this is instore only
£10 in homebase
Will have to buy the Wife one for her birthday
Yes, this is a good price for this D.I.Y guide. Voted Hot !
Its worth it cos even doing those basic jobs are made easier when you have diagrams to refer back to... even for you experts out there...
Just in time when I wanted to buy this!! Heat added.
£10 in homebase

Last time I checked it was £19.99 in my local HB.
I bought a similar one last year for £6 in Smiths. There is a lot of stuff in there that an experienced DIY'er would know but useful stuff all the same.

has good forums if you get stuck with anything too.
Last time I checked it was £19.99 in my local HB.
It was £10 instore yesterday - Warwick store.
it's blue one on sale for 5 pounds in my local whsmith... the red one's still 14.99. I have no idea what the difference is apart from the red one has a CD. The blue's also 2009 version.
Bought this for £5 in the orpington ,kent store! it is a newer cover so dont look for a red one, its blue!! mine was in the bestsellers section at the front of the store with a save 75% off sticker from £20 to £5 a bargain so i bought it for my boyfriend :) ideal for when he gets a house! (there are 13 chapters- 1 know your home, 2 basic skills and tools, 3 home decorating, 4 floor coverings, 5 fixtures and fittings, 6 doors and windows, 7. walla ceiling and fireplaces, 8, floors and staircases, 9.wiring and lighting, 10. plumbing and heating, 11. outdoor maintenance, 12. DIY in the garden, 13. rules & regulations (what to consider when planning a loft conversion, homeextension etc)
book itself is quite bulky but with so much detailed information its definitelyworth the £5!! even things like how to remove carpet stains such as alcohol, ink, ketchup, chewing gum, lipstick to fit a sink, wallpapering in awkward places, paint problems, painting doors and frames, using waxes and oil finishes etc.highly recommended book. maybe ill keep it myself :D
Just picked this up today. Cheers for the post. Heat and Rep added
