Probably, I'll tell you when I come home. I'm just reading about it and they have loads of activities planned for that weekend, over 50 free activities!! Got to be something there to do, even if we only go swimming

I live in southport and yes this pontins is a health hazard.
The doors have holes in them, crumbs on the beds, mould on the curtains, flea's on the carpets eww its just rancid.
Check out the reviews...the pics show you the rooms :) Mmmm nice

Just returned from Pontin’s Southport, a day early as we couldn’t stand the place any longer! The only reason we stayed that long was because of our little girl who had counted down this ‘holiday’ for 10 weeks before. We had booked it through The Sun holidays as a short Easter break…BIG MISTAKE. We booked Budget accommodation from Easter Monday for 4 nights.

First Impressions – Like so many other reviewers…it is akin to a prison camp. The barbed wire and concrete fencing tells you all you need to know.
Entertainment Complex – If you like horrid carpets (there’s a theme here) and blue school chairs, then this is the place for you. The place stinks too. Can’t comment on the quality of entertainment as we didn’t see any shows.
Check In – This took place in the entertainment complex and it was quick and painless. The cynic in me thinks they planned this to coincide with the bar opening times!
Go Karts – Fancy pitting your driving skills against your family. Well don’t bother as there are only 2 working go karts. You’ll be queuing for a while!
Swimming Pool – Bizarrely UPSTAIRS in one of the buildings. Took one look during our tour of the site which was enough to convince us to go swimming elsewhere.
Accommodation – I could write a whole article on just this alone. Briefly, these were our experiences: The carpet was so filthy that no amount of vacuum cleaning would improve its appearance. There were so many rips and stains all over it. Shoes were a must at all times. We’ve returned and washed our slippers and shoes!
The bed settee mattress was that bad that we decided to push the 2 single beds together and squeeze into bed with our daughter. After sleeping, we took the duvet off the bed to use as a ‘throw’ over the bed settee so we didn’t have to sit on it.
The walls had missing paper from where the bunk beds used to be. The curtains in the bedroom also had large areas of mould on them…nice.
The shower, when the water was eventually warm, was like those in public baths where you press a button and it sprays water for 20 seconds.
On the outside, the paint is peeling off the wooden window frames and the ‘apartment’ looks so uninviting.

In Conclusion – As you can imagine, we didn’t spend much time at Pontin’s. We spent as little time there as possible. We had a good time visiting Southport, Blackpool and Dunes Water World. Pontin’s has serious issues and the Environmental Health officers at Sefton council should have a good look at this place. In fact I’m convinced that inmates detained at Her Majesty’s pleasure enjoy superior facilities than those we experienced. Regardless of how much is paid, there are certain standards and expectations which should be upheld and if what we witnessed was their BEST then this is very worrying indeed. We have holidayed all around the UK at Center Parcs, Butlins, Haven and other caravan sites, all of which bare no comparison to this place! Needless to say, we won’t be returning to this or any other Pontin’s camp.

Says it all tbh :( although the good news is they ARE knocking it down soon (well they say so anyway)

My brother went to the one in Brean, lasted 30 mins, said it was a total filth hole and that was the "top" chalets, couldn't see out the windows for the grease, the sofabed was almost hitting the cooker and was stinking and covered in stains, etc., went and demanded back his money along with many others, even the security guard said to him "you're not staying then mate, I wouldn't it's a ***** hole" so I managed to book him into a Haven and he had a great time and saved money! Another of my friends went and lasted one night, people have even been offered free holidays there and refused.

So it seems that no Pontins is a holiday worth having whatever the cost!

I went a few years back with a hot chick I was seeing at the time. The place was a dive but we spent most of the time in bed as she was randy 24/7 !

I therefore have happy memories of my Pontins weekend and can't vote cold for this deal.

I've not been to Pontins as an adult but can honestly say I've got fantastic memories of the place from when I was young.
If you can see past the grottiness of the place, I'm sure your kids will have an awesome time!

I got back from there on Sunday was meant to stay till Monday I can only discribe it as a S**t Hole. I was also told that it was going to be knocked down.......best thing for it:x

It's not even near Southport unless you think just over 4 miles is on the doorstep! I'd rather spend a weekend in Guantanamo Bay!

I always rate Pontins, i think what people forget is, its a holiday camp!! People expect sooo much for their money nowadays, its like going camping only you get the accomodation included, yeah its manky but hey what do you expect for brass buttons, if its luxery you want then book a nice hotel somewhere!

ALthough I would say, dont count on the vouchers, they are simply money off vouchers eg, 50p off a pint, although they do come in handy, you have to first of all remember to take them out with you lol. We usually bring a whole load home with us that wernt worth using.

We go to Pontins several times a year. Its fantastic for the kids, always something to do and much cheaper on site than any of the other camp sites.

Its £70 odd quid for a holiday!!! how can you complain??? dont go to Pontins and expect the ritz. The complainers really wind me up, I mean its Pontins, a holiday camp.
