Single disc version, great price

After teaming up in 2002 for the dramatic music documentary OT: The Movie, Spanish horror specialists Jaume Balaguer (Darkness) and Paco Plaza (Second Name) join forces once again for this experimental frightener about a mysterious outbreak in an old tenement building. Reporter Angela (Manuela Velasco) and her trusty cameraman Pablo are following a local fire crew for a segment of their reality television series "When You're Asleep" when the firefighters receive a distress call from a nearby apartment building. An elderly woman has become locked in her apartment; a routine call by any account. The police are already on the scene, so now it's up to firemen Manu (Ferran Terraza) and Alex (David Vert) to break down the door and ensure that no harm has come to her. Upon arriving at the building, everything appears normal. But the calm atmosphere at the moment betrays the horrors that begin to unfold after the firemen break down the tenant's door and experience something that no one would believe had it not been captured on camera. Later, as the building is surrounded and quarantined, Pablo continues to roll tape to ensure that whatever the outcome of this terrifying situation may be, there will be some evidence to ensure that the truth gets out. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Great film - sequel was really good too!

Bah, one use code. Frontiers is the same price, btw. Would have ordered this at the same time had I known.
#4

Quarantine is a scene-for-scene remake, apparently. I've heard the original is better but I haven't seen either.
#6
Rec is far better.

I'm a huge horror fan, despite the fact that I'm disappointed by 99.9% of the films they churn out.
Rec, is one of the best horror films of recent years though. I obviously wont give anything away, but it also gets SERIOUSLY creepy towards the end.

Horrors rarely ever scare me, but this one did. Brilliant horror movie.

Quarantine is the hollywood remake of Rec for the people who think foreign films are for foreign people and who are unable to read subtitles. Rec is better :)

Great movie.
Though I was less disappointed with Quarantine than I thought I would be.

Agreed.

The sound design is also amazing - honestly, just hearing the infected stomp around on the floor above them is horrifying.

Rec is absolutely awesome. The last 10 mins are horror on a totally new level.

Frontier(s) is excellent - better than this IMO, but pretty grisly

Nice, I look forward to it. Watched Martyrs and Inside recently too. Enjoyed them very much. Dare I say Martyrs was exceptional?

I've watched Rec now. Didn't like it. Constant, can't see anything shaky cam + loud screaming and an annoying lead actress/character = weak show. I must agree that the closing scenes were quite good though. I'm still quite interested in seeing Quarantine, just to compare.

Agree, I stay well clear of American horrors now, all utter rubbish and there's been a hell of a lot over the last few years.

Martyrs, Frontiers and Switchblade Romance (very strange ending) I thought were good, also Eden Lake. Very brutal films with realistic gore.

I was just about to buy this Rec until I read the description and realised I've seen it. I was very disappointed with it! Can anybody recommend some good horror / physcological thrillers?

I want this but I'm refusing to use Tesco after their cancelled pre-orders debacle :(

Amazing film, good price too!

Great film, made with a very small budget, freaked me out in a good way.
I could have a good rant about "remakes" because a film isn't in English but I keep it to myself. ;-)

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance stands way above Mr, which was a very average and at times tedious Park Can Wook film.

If you want a nice trilogy of Asian horror, check out Three Extremes
