Yeh I thought what the hell as well as first. Just bought a some new stuff and it came up recommend area. Couldn't find any cheaper around. Worth having even for your wii!

Taken From Site;

The USB port is becoming more and more useful. First came the memory card with the built-in USB plug, now comes the USB-charged battery! Moixa Energy have developed the USB Cell as an environmentally-friendly alternative to normal AA batteries. The top of one side flips up to reveal a USB connector, and the battery simply plugs into an open port.

The convenience of the USB Cell means that you don't have to carry around a separate charger or cables, and can charge it in a game station, as well as in keyboards and monitors with USB sockets.

It takes five hours to charge one of the cells if it was fully discharged.
Because the batteries are fully rechargeable, you never need to throw them away, think of all the money you will save compared to when you buy countless amounts of regular batteries!

Features:

* No need for extra cables or chargers
* Charges from any USB port
* Has a capacity of 1300mAH
* Works with PC and MAC

Uses:

* Wireless Mice and Keyboards
* Digital Cameras
* MP3 Speakers
* TV Remote's
* Home Entertainment
* Bicycle Lights
* Tools & Torches
* Wireless Games Controllers
* Home Gaming
* Portable Radio's and Devices
* Children's Toys

Very bad value for money imho. You can get 2500mah and a charger for that. 1300mah are pretty useless for high drain applications like cameras/walkmans etc.

another cold vote from me too I'm afraid. The batteries are just not very practical as they don't last very long. Like shengis said, better off getting the 'traditional' rechargeable battery.

By the way they're £14-57 with p&p. £13-98 from Maplins. Over the years i've come to the conclusion that if Maplins sells something it's best avoided, apart from their 320 capacity CD cases ;-)

I agree! I have been unimpressed by the quality and durability of their products.

This type of battery is a daft buy. Hopefully the technology will advance in this area though!

The idea is good, but this particular product isnt. I say watch this space because better and cheaper ones will be out soon!
