good deal that

Any idea of capacity?

None of the USB batteries available at present are going to be very useful. If you are determined to use rechareables then use the standard ones. You could invest in a ReZap charger which recharges alkaline (all brands) up to 10 times. I have already saved a fortune in a few months with mine.

If the same as last time (and the brand is the same) the AAA are 800 and the AA are 2100.

One word of warning, these lose their charge very quickly if not used straight away - if put in a device immediately they are fine, but don't trust them to last a week as back-up batteries (on holiday for instance) for a digicam or MP3, etc.

just what i need for my new camera

these are always in my local lidl at the till and they are great

Poundland do 4xAA (800mh) for............£1.00.
I've bought loads, and find they're great in things like remote controls and kids toys.

Not very good in things with motors though. I use them in my sons musical mobile on his cot and they might last almost a week if lucky but normal non-rechargeables last 2-3 times that.

nice one, i need to get about 8 packs of aa batteries. every single toy my son owns, including cuddly toys , appear to use aa batteries.

typically every toy he ever had only took aaa batteries until i got a load of aaa rechargables, now they are redundant.

If the AAA rechargeable batteries you have are still otherwise serviceable, get yourself some AA battery converters - just 99p for 4 @ maplin (buy instore price)

Will allow you to use the AAA batteries in the toys that take AA
Picture shows C and D battery converters too - also available from maplin - these allow AA batteries to be used in things that take either C or D size batteries (or even combine them and use AAA batteries ilo C or D batteries)

Anybody manage to get these today? Visited my two local stores, neither had had any in - normally they have stacks of them when the offers on.
#15
They definitely had some in the Stanmore branch but they were behind the till. My wife went in this morning and nearly assumed they had not got any until she asked on the off-chance.
#16
Totton (Southampton) branch had loads as of this evening.
#17
Still around.. thanks gogsnar for the reminder :)

Got two rechargeable 9v batteries from that store for £1.99 each. They are Ni-Mh 200mAh. Rechargeables are still around but not on display. The 9v seem especially good because even on ebay they are double the price.
Cheers I wouldn't have found these without your post.
