This SOLARTRONIC SC1034 Rechargeable Electric scooter is £39.99 plus £5.95 delivery from Comet. It's been reduced in price by £30, and I think that's a pretty good price. (I'm thinking about xmas pressies again!) I'm moving house soon to be 5 minutes from my workplace, and I'm thinking of getting one for myself!!

Key features: * Top speed of 5mph * Fully rechargeable * Rear safety brake * Carries a maximum load of 70kg * Must not be used on public highways * Appropriate protective equipment must be worn

Errrmmm how are you going to get to work on it Emma when you cant use it on a public highway?
OOOhhh er missus. Never thought of that... well it would only be on a public highway for approx 300m... (!)
Found this via Froogle.

This one is allegedly a little faster (almost 7.5 MPH), but I don't see any mention of a rechargeable battery or charger.

BTW 5 miles an hour isn't very quick, you might be better off with a nice pair of trainers!

Just to be on the safe side of the law and because it's only 300m, I would advise you to push it to work and don't forget to wear a crash helmet.
I got two of these a couple of years ago for my kids. They're OK but the battery chargers are very poor and when you plug them in they interfere with other electrics in the house, so the shielding must be pretty poor.
One of the scooters now refuses to charge as well, so don't expect a long life from these.
Reasonably fast in the street for a 6 year old, but not for adults.
my charger is DONE help1
